Summary
- Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” made Billboard Hot 100 history
- It’s now the longest-charting rap song ever, logging 53 weeks
- The Drake diss track previously broke streaming records and won GRAMMYs
Kendrick Lamar has set yet another chart record with “Not Like Us.”
According to Chartdata, the diss track has been a consistent presence on the Billboard Hot 100 for 53 consecutive weeks, earning it the title of longest-running rap song ever listed. Currently, “Not Like Us” can be found at position No. 23 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart.
On another occasion, “Not Like Us” has shattered records before. Previously, it toppled Drake and Lil Baby’s “Girls Like Girls” to claim the Spotify record for the most single-day streams of a hip-hop track. Additionally, it set a blazing pace as the swiftest rap song to amass 300 million streams on the platform.
In May 2024, “Not Like Us” was released, a song that served as a response to Drake in their ongoing rap feud. Within 48 hours, it became Dot’s third release, stirring up controversy. The lyrics suggest that Drizzy has a history of preferring underage girls and accuses him of appropriating black culture (being a “culture vulture”). The track proved to be successful, debuting at No. 1 and earning several GRAMMY awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video.
Kendrick Lamar’s hit single, “Not Like Us,” sets a new milestone as the longest-charting rap song ever on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
