Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “luther” Hits No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100
Kendrick Lamar and SZA kick off the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week with their joint track, titled “luther,” under the GNX collaboration.
The track climbed a position to take over from Dot’s diss track aimed at Drake titled “Not Like Us,” earning an impressive 46.7 million radio plays, 45.2 million on-demand streams (an increase of 6% compared to the previous week), and sales of 6,000 units in the time frame of February 14th to February 20th. The song “luther” marks Kendrick Lamar’s sixth number one single on the Hot 100 chart, joining his previous hits such as “squabble up,” “Not Like Us,” “Like That” with Future and Metro Boomin, “HUMBLE.” and “Bad Blood” with Taylor Swift. Additionally, this is SZA’s third number one single, following “Slime You Out” with Drake and “Kill Bill.
Beyond his recent achievement of a sixth number one hit, Lamar has now broken the record for the quickest accumulation of these top spots, as he managed to secure four number ones within just eleven months. Additionally, “luther” has maintained its position at the top of both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for a ninth non-consecutive week.
