Kendrick Lamar and SZA Unveil “luther” Visual
Look at that! A fresh Kendrick Lamar video is out just in time for your Friday. Not only that, but it’s the official music video for their collaboration with SZA on the track “luther” from the GNX album.
Before the “Grand National Tour” of the duo arrives, the “Luther” video is an imaginative cinematic representation of the beloved song that samples Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn. Directed by Karena Evans, the video follows the Top Dawg Entertainment artists as they manage their personal relationships. Black-and-white scenes are interspersed with a limited number of color shots to create the video.
As a gamer, I’d put it like this: In one scene, me and Lamar are seen sitting on a bench in a cool, blue-tinted hallway. We both sport some amazing, high-end outfits that catch your eye throughout the dramatic sequence. It’s all about style and sophistication in this dark yet captivating montage.
Deeply romantic, similar to the song itself, the video concludes with the authentic rendition of “If This World Were Ours” by Vandross and Lynn.
