Jeopardy! remains one of the greatest game shows ever created, despite Alex Trebek’s passing in 2020. The majority of fans appreciate the current host, Ken Jennings, who is not only a successful Jeopardy! contestant but also shares Trebek’s legacy on the show by filming at the stage named after him and commemorating his birthday with heartfelt tributes. Recently, Jennings has added another touching nod to Trebek’s memory, which has left me feeling emotional.
Jennings has opened up in the past about what it’s been like to host Jeopardy! after Trebek, and even admitted he thought that the late game show host would not have loved the hosting brouhaha that happened before Jennings was picked as his permanent replacement. Luckily, there are a lot of things that Trebek would have probably definitely loved, including Jennings occasionally wearing his ties, as he shared on Instagram:

A seemingly minor action holds immense significance – keeping a few of Trebek’s ties and occasionally wearing them by the current host Jennings touches my heart deeply. Even without his physical presence on stage, when someone wears one of his ties, it feels as if Trebek is still standing behind the podium, an emotional connection that makes the experience even more meaningful.
As a passionate movie buff, I can’t help but marvel at the impressive collection of wardrobe options for our beloved host, Alex Trebek. Although the exact number of suits he has remains a mystery, it’s clear that they’re kept on rotation, making his presence feel ever-present even when he’s not there in person. It’s quite possible that some of his personal items might still be hidden away backstage, adding an extra touch to the set and creating the illusion that Alex is never truly gone from our screens.
Every time I watch Jeopardy!, I find myself curious about whether Jennings’ tie matches the one Trebek usually wore. This guessing game seems quite amusing to me. Yet, I also hope that the new host will reveal a collection of Trebek’s ties at some point, allowing us to appreciate the different ones he donned during tapings.
Alex Trebek, a renowned game show host, left an indelible mark in the industry, and it’s heartening to witness Jeopardy! honoring his legacy in various ways since his passing. The show has been entertaining audiences for quite some time now, but James Holzhauer, who took over hosting less than five years ago, is relatively new. Yet, another aspect of Trebek’s enduring legacy lies in the fact that under Holzhauer’s tenure, the Jeopardy! format remains unaltered, which brings me great joy.
In the meantime, Ken Jennings continues to make a name for himself on “Jeopardy!”, despite some viewers not being particularly fond of him. However, he’s proven himself as an adequate replacement with his performance. Notably, he made an appearance in “Happy Gilmore 2”. Although no one can truly replace Alex Trebek, Jennings seems to have been the ideal choice for the role and does a commendable job honoring Trebek’s memory.
