Kelsey Grammer Described Filming Avengers: Doomsday (And Even Beast Would Be Confused)

The Marvel Cinematic Universe consistently surprises fans with new movies and shows on Disney+. Currently, everyone is especially excited for the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday, which promises to bring together a massive cast of heroes, including characters from the X-Men franchise. Actor Kelsey Grammer, who reprises his role as Beast, has described the filming process as incredibly complex – so much so that it would likely baffle even his intelligent character.

Details about Avengers: Doomsday are scarce, but longtime Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are particularly looking forward to seeing fresh team-ups. In a recent ScreenRant interview, Grammer discussed filming his part in the movie, saying:

It felt very superficial. I didn’t really get to collaborate with most of the cast because everyone was just flying in for short periods, and we’d end up working together without having any real connection beforehand.

The recent cast announcement for Avengers: Doomsday has left fans puzzled about how so many heroes will fit into the story. It seems like characters will be interacting even if the actors didn’t film scenes together, and even Kelsey Grammer, who voices Beast, isn’t sure how it will all work. The Russo Brothers are facing a huge challenge in bringing everything together for the next two Avengers films.

Disney+ offers streaming access to Marvel Cinematic Universe and X-Men content. You can start a subscription with ads for as little as $11.99 per month. For an ad-free experience, it’s $18.99 monthly, or you can save 16% by paying $189.99 for an annual subscription. See the deal here.

Kelsey Grammer, known for his role in Frasier, made a surprise appearance as Beast in the post-credits scene of The Marvels. The scene shows Monica Rambeau waking up in what appears to be a different dimension – one where the X-Men are present. Beyond this quick cameo, Grammer is anticipated to have a significant part in the upcoming Doomsday film. He later described the Marvel Cinematic Universe as:

An extraordinary franchise, and I was really, really happy to be invited back.

Everyone’s eager to find out what role the X-Men will play in the new story, especially with so many original actors returning. Alongside Kelsey Grammer, we’ll see Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and Channing Tatum as Gambit reprise their roles. Gambit, who recently appeared in Deadpool & Wolverine, will officially join the team this time around. However, it’s still unclear how many of these characters will make it through their confrontation with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has had its ups and downs lately, so there’s a lot riding on the new film by The Russo Brothers to revitalize the series. A strong cast, including the introduction of mutants, is a major advantage.

We’ll find out all the details when Avengers: Doomsday comes out in theaters on December 18th of next year, as part of the 2026 movie lineup. Hopefully, we’ll learn soon how Kelsey Grammer and the X-Men will be involved.
