Kelsea Ballerini teases album Patterns and single Sorry Mom as she says her new music is ‘not what you’d expect’
As a lifestyle expert with a knack for discerning the pulse of music and its artists, I find Kelsea Ballerini‘s upcoming album, Patterns, to be a compelling exploration of her rich life experiences. The country music star has consistently demonstrated her ability to weave stories into melodies that resonate deeply with listeners, and this new collection promises to continue that tradition.
On Thursday, Kelsea Ballerini took to social media to share news about her forthcoming album titled ‘Patterns’, which is set for release this autumn.
The well-known country singer, aged 30, currently in a relationship with Chase Stokes from Outer Banks, shared on Instagram that her upcoming single titled “Sorry Mom” is set for release this coming Friday.
The striking brunette revealed the cover art for her new album, depicting a thoughtful image of her perched atop a pile of suitcases on a sandy beach during sunset.
‘On October 25th, PATTERNS posted a message for her 4.1 million followers: ‘Apologies, Mom, I won’t be home until midnight tonight, let’s begin unpacking…’, she playfully suggested.’
Ballerni, now a coach on The Voice, clarified to the Associated Press that contrary to expectations, her upcoming album won’t be all bright and cheerful love songs. Instead, it will steer clear of the sugary, romantic tunes.
Ballerini invited fans to join a streaming party for her new single.
The invitation on the flyer reads, “You are cordially invited to our Sorry Mom Stationhead Streaming Event,” with details provided such as, “It’s happening this Friday at 5PM Eastern Time, 4PM Central Time, or 2PM Pacific Time.”
The singer-songwriter explained to the AP why she’s proud of her new collection of songs.
She admitted, “I could have simply gathered the most stunning aspects of my past few years, but those moments don’t encompass all of my experience. Instead, I chose to share the entirety.”
Ahead of Sorry Mom Kelsea previously released Cowboys Cry Too, which features Noah Kahan.
On Thursday, Kelsea shared a sneak peek of her upcoming song via her Instagram Stories, describing it as potentially her favorite composition she has ever created.
In one part of it she sings, ‘I turned out alright / so you can sleep good at night / maybe I ran all the red lights / maybe we got into a few fights.’
In my own words, I express, ‘Initially, I apologized by saying, “Sorry, mom, I reeked of cigarettes.” Yet, it’s those things that our mothers dislike hearing. However, when you delve into the lyrics and the essence of the song, it becomes a heartfelt letter of gratitude for the way my mother raised me.’
Around mid-July, the seasoned performer gave her online followers a peek backstage during her latest role on The Voice, sharing candid photos.
In early June, it was revealed that she would be joining the cast for Season 27 of the musical contest, sharing the stage with recurring judge Adam Levine.
They will be joined by Michael Buble and John Legend when the show reemerges in Spring 2025.
Sharing the BTS snaps, Kelsea wrote, ‘plot twist…it works out,’ along with a white heart emoji.
