Kelly Rowland celebrates Beyonce’s 43rd birthday by sharing rare snap of them together: ‘Love you forever’
As a fan who grew up witnessing the magical journey of Destiny’s Child, I can say it’s been nothing short of a dream come true to watch Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé’s friendship blossom over the years. From their humble beginnings at just 9 years old, to becoming one of the most iconic girl groups in music history, they’ve proven time and again that they not only can make us dance but also inspire us with their resilience and sisterhood.
On Thursday, Kelly Rowland posted a seldom-seen picture of herself with her close friend Beyoncé to her over 16.5 million fans, honoring Beyoncé’s birthday.
In the picture, the 43-year-old singer is smiling next to the renowned star, who appeared luminous as they both rejoiced over her 43rd birthday.
In a casual setting, the melodious inspiration creator flaunted her effortlessly curly tresses, seated alongside Beyoncé, accessorized with a pair of sparkling green earrings and two stacked gold necklaces.
Simultaneously, the birthday woman had her platinum-blond hair styled in loose curls, and she was dressed in a sleeveless outfit.
‘BB, I wish you a joyous birthday! My love for you is eternal ❤️,’ The mother-of-two wrote this caption, which gathered over 395,596 likes in merely nine hours.
Following Beyoncé posting numerous images of her birthday celebrations, held at a exotic destination, Rowland posted something as well.
Beyonce expressed her gratitude for another wonderful year, and thanked everyone for their heartfelt birthday wishes, as she put it in her caption.
At the age of nine, both Rowland and Beyoncé commenced their musical journey together, several years prior to establishing the iconic girl group Destiny’s Child.
The band wasn’t commercially successful until 1998 when they released the song “No, No, No”, but it was actually formed back in 1990.
The team proceeded to produce multiple chart-topping songs such as Lose My Breath, Survivor, Independent Woman, and many more.
In the year 2006, the individual members of Destiny’s Child decided it was time for them to pursue their personal careers, leading to the group’s separation.
Over the span of their 15-year musical journey, the band received nominations for an impressive fourteen Grammy Awards.
In 2001, the band ended up winning both the Grammys for Best Performance by a Duo or Group in the R&B category with Vocals, as well as Best R&B Song.
Destiny’s Child has reunited on several occasions, including the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show.
In 2018’s Coachella Festival, where Beyoncé was the main act, the music legends later performed together on the same stage.
In May, Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, referred to Rowland as her third daughter.
During her appearance on the Today show, she reminisced about Beyoncé being quite reserved as a child and experiencing some bullying.
Throughout the years, Beyoncé and Rowland have managed to maintain a strong friendship, often standing by each other as they pursued different career paths.
She expressed, ‘Just as light draws in more light, I am radiant and shining like warm brown light. I don’t believe one person’s light can dim another; instead, it reveals the shadows of those who doubt their own brilliance. Therefore, I no longer let others try to diminish my glow – not from anyone else. I admire Beyoncé, as she too shines brightly, but I know my own light is equally powerful.’
2022 saw Rowland musing over the fact that they seemed to complement each other exceptionally well, almost like kin, as far as he was concerned.
‘We’re there for each other’s children’s births,’ she said during an interview with Hot 97.
