Kelly Osbourne reveals she’s finally able to smile again following the death of beloved father Ozzy as she works through her grief with falconry

Kelly Osbourne has shared that she’s able to smile once more, marking a milestone approximately two months following her father Ozzy’s passing.

The popular television host, aged 40, suffered a devastating loss when her cherished father and closest companion passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease.

In a recent Instagram post on Monday, Kelly disclosed that she’s discovered a new pastime to assist her in dealing with her sorrow. She stated that she’s now practicing falconry.

She shared a series of videos catching falcons and owls, beaming as she fed the birds of prey. 

next to the image of an owl, she wrote: “Amidst my sorrow and pain, I’ve discovered something that brings me genuine joy!

I hadn’t imagined that I would regain my smile through falconry, but I managed it. I genuinely cherish spending time with these magnificent birds.

Kelly and Ozzy had a particularly strong relationship, one where Ozzy, the Black Sabbath musician, often expressed that she was his most cherished offspring.

In simpler terms, Ozzy, who has five children, once expressed fondness for his daughter Kelly, saying during an interview, “Among all my kids, if I have to pick a favorite, it would be Kelly.

In response to the question “Are Jack and Aimee aware of that?”, he said, “They’re certainly informed about it. Kelly and I are as close as two peas in a pod!

In 2003, they jointly released a two-piece song titled “Changes,” which peaked at the number one spot on the UK singles chart. Following Ozzy’s passing, it re-entered the top 10 charts.

At the MTV VMAs, a heartfelt tribute was dedicated to Ozzy, following which Kelly expressed her intention to learn how to smile once more.

Last Sunday evening, some of the most notable musicians came together at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, marking the first significant awards event held since the passing of Ozzy in July.

Honoring the deceased singer, musicians Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Yungblud came together to deliver a touching medley of Ozzy Osbourne’s top songs – an event that stood out as one of the ceremony’s most memorable moments.

The acknowledgement commenced by playing a heartfelt video message from Ozzy’s son Jack and his offspring, expressing their sentiments regarding this cherished artist.

Jack expressed that it would undoubtedly bring immense joy to him if he could witness these exceptional musicians continuing his musical legacy and motivating the upcoming generation of rock artists.

The star’s grandkids exclaimed, “‘Just like Papa said,’Crazy Time!'”, echoing the title of their famous grandfather’s hit single, Crazy Train.

In an engaging performance, Yungblud, renowned for his extreme guitar skills, along with Nuno Bettencourt, joined forces with Black Sabbath’s keyboardist Adam Wakeman. Together they played a track, and subsequently, Black Sabbath’s tune titled “Changes” followed suit.

The Aerosmith duo of Steven and Joe joined the action for Mama, I’m Coming Home.

In that very year, the Prince of Darkness solidified his enduring status by earning a place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a coveted star.

As the tribute ended, the performers yelled ‘Ozzy forever, man!’

Before the upcoming tribute, Yungblud announced some news via Instagram on a Friday, uploading a collection of heartwarming black-and-white pictures of him alongside the rock icon.

In 2022, Dominic Harrison, more commonly known as Yungblud, developed a deep connection with Ozzy, which seemed to evolve into a relationship reminiscent of a close father-son bond after they met.

Yungblud reportedly gave a moving reading at his funeral. 

Additionally, he participated in the legendary metal artist’s goodbye show held at Birmingham’s Villa Park in June, during a time when his health was worsening.
