Kelly Osbourne breaks down in tears as she pays emotional tribute to late father Ozzy as she accepts Lifetime Achievement Award on his behalf

Kelly Osbourne broke down in tears as she paid a moving tribute to her late father Ozzy.

The 40-year-old TV star accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award in memory of her father, who died in July at the age of 76.

Ozzy was honoured at The Birmingham Awards, held at The Eastside Rooms, on Friday.

With tears in her eyes, Kelly shared that Ozzy was more thrilled to receive a star on Birmingham’s Walk of Stars than he was to get one on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Kelly shared that the iconic singer made a final visit to Birmingham, the city he cherished and where he famously performed with Black Sabbath at Villa Park, in the weeks before his passing, as a way to say goodbye.

In a portion of her speech, Kelly explained that while many singers never win an award, this particular honor meant more to her than any she’d received before.

He was thrilled to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but he considered his star on the Walk of Stars on Broad Street to be an even greater honor.

Although his career kept him in America for many years, he always considered Birmingham his true home.

In a video captured by Joe Kenny from Done For You Sales Agency – a company nominated for Best Start Up of the Year – Kelly explained that he cherished the city and its people, and they felt the same way about him. Because of this connection, it meant a lot to him to return one last time in July to say goodbye.

We were deeply touched by the incredible show of love and support. Seeing so many people line the streets and stop the city to pay their respects meant the world to us.

He spent over fifty years performing countless shows, but he considered a concert in Aston to be the most significant of his entire career. Even as his health declined, he insisted his last performance be held at this very location.

My dad was incredibly proud of being from Birmingham, right from when he started his career until the very end. Speaking for myself and my whole family, we’re so grateful for this amazing lifetime achievement award. I just know he’s watching us tonight, beaming with pride.

It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news of Ozzy’s passing. He sadly died of heart failure at his home in Buckinghamshire on July 22nd. It’s especially poignant considering he’d just given a beautiful farewell performance with his band in Birmingham at Villa Park only two weeks before. It was a truly special moment for him and his fans, and he’ll be deeply missed.

The following day, Kelly posted on Instagram, saying the award would have made the Black Sabbath musician proud.

Last night, I was incredibly honored to accept a lifetime achievement award on behalf of my father at the Birmingham Awards.

I’m incredibly grateful for all the love and support I’ve received. My dad would have been so proud, and being from Birmingham meant the world to him.

He truly cherished this city and its residents. Receiving this recognition would have been incredibly meaningful to him. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

People quickly shared messages of support, with comments like ‘He’s beaming with pride. Kelly, you look beautiful,’ and ‘Your dad was incredible – his music will live on.’

‘Very, very nice. Be so proud of your father. You look great. He’s watching from above,’;

It’s wonderful you were able to do that for your dad. I know he’s watching over you and the whole family with a smile. He’ll always be remembered.

She was a wonderful daughter, and we’re so grateful she could accept this for him. Ozzy was incredibly proud of her, and she’s truly the best. We miss him very much, but we believe he’s still looking out for all of you. Sending blessings to everyone, and to your mother as well.

Sharon Osbourne and her children, Jack and Kelly, recently visited a large pumpkin mural honoring their father, putting on a cheerful display despite the difficult circumstances.

A massive mural, created with more than 10,000 pumpkins, has been revealed at Sunnyfields Farm in Totton, Hampshire.

Okay, so I took Sharon, Jack, and Kelly to check out this amazing sculpture – it’s seriously impressive! It stands about 35 feet tall and has been installed since October 4th. To really get a sense of its scale and artistry, we hopped on a cherry picker for an incredible aerial view. It was the best way to appreciate the full scope of the piece!

In the years before his death, Ozzy struggled with several health problems. A fall at home in 2019 made his condition even worse.
