Kelly Macdonald’s British vampire movie is now available to watch on Sky Cinema
As a fan who has been following Kelly Macdonald’s career since her days on “Boardwalk Empire,” I must say that her new vampire movie, “The Radleys,” is a must-watch! The film, available now on Sky Cinema, offers a fresh take on the vampire genre with its intriguing plot and stellar cast. Damian Lewis, known for his roles in “Line of Duty” and “Billions,” delivers a captivating performance as the conflicted vampire father, Peter.
Kelly Macdonald’s new vampire movie The Radleys is now available to watch for fans on Sky Cinema.
In the movie, it’s Damian Lewis from “Line of Duty” and “Billions” who takes on the roles of Helen and Peter, a pair of vampires. Their offspring, Rowan and Clara, uncover the hidden thirst for blood that defines their family.
The movie “The Radleys” is adapted from Matt Haig’s book and boasts a high approval rating of 73% (fresh) on Rotten Tomatoes.
Starting October 18, Sky subscribers will have the opportunity to enjoy the film on Sky Cinema, making it an ideal choice for your weekend viewing.
The film focuses on two “vampires abstaining from drinking blood,” a choice they maintain despite their inherent thirst for it, but their bloodlust seems to grow stronger over time.
In an unforeseen incident where Clara gets assaulted by a fellow student, her innate reactions trigger Peter and Helen to disclose the hidden truth.
The stunning disclosure prompts Rowan, the heartbroken son, and Clara, the plant-based eater, to reconsider their personal identities and long-held passions.
In our four-star review for Digital Spy, we noted: “What stands out most in The Radleys is the fact that, due to a gifted cast and clever modifications to the initial tale, you’ll find yourself emotionally invested in this family by the time of the predictably violent conclusion.
Though they could potentially be vampires, they exhibit emotions and yearnings that seem genuinely human, and to some degree, you may find yourself relating to them.
Alongside Macdonald and Lewis (who portrays Peter’s twin brother Will, a vampire who indulges in his decadent, bloodthirsty existence), the film features Sophia Di Martino from Loki, Harry Baxendale, and Bo Bragason as well.
The Radleys is available to watch now on Sky Cinema.
