Kelly Clarkson Out? NBC Eyes Hoda Kotb to Take Over After Mysterious Absence

It’s possible that Kelly Clarkson may be leaving her NBC talk show, and it appears that the network is considering a well-known television personality as her potential replacement.

After just under four months since her last appearance on NBC’s The Today Show following a 17-year tenure, Hoda Kotb is one of the leading contenders being mentioned for replacing the departing Clarkson, aged 43.

As a die-hard enthusiast, I can’t help but spill the beans about this juicy bit of gossip! Apparently, my beloved Hoda has made the list, and The million-dollar question on everyone’s lips is: would Hoda be open to the opportunity? Keep your fingers crossed, folks!

According to the source, Hoda Kotb’s solid reputation, backing from The Today Show audience, and impressive history of success make her a perfect fit for the role that Clarkson, aged 43, is vacating.

‘Hoda ticks a lot of boxes,’ the source said. ‘She’s an Egyptian, older Kelly Clarkson.’

Dailymail.com has reached out to reps for Clarkson and Kotb for further comment on this story.

Furthermore, the source revealed that Kotb is highly respected by those in leadership positions and enjoys a friendly rapport with the executives.

A source shared with the media that Jennifer Clarkson’s television and music careers are interconnected. If her upcoming album doesn’t perform well, there’s a possibility she might choose to continue her talk show. However, she has numerous projects ongoing, and it could be the perfect moment for her to embark on a new phase in her career.

Maria Shriver was also mentioned as a potential Clarkson replacement, the source said.

Savannah Guthrie playfully remarked in January that her friend and co-worker, Hoda Kotb, had left an unsavory or unappealing mess when she departed from the Today show on NBC earlier this year.

On January 15, the Australian-born television personality, aged 53, made an appearance on The Tonight Show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon. Accompanying her was her new co-host, Craig Melvin, who is also 45 years old.

As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but share my thoughts on a video I produced while tidying up the studio space once occupied by Kotb, who bid farewell to the show in January.

Guthrie, who has been hosting the Today show for over a decade, vividly remembered the clutter found in Kotb’s workspace after she left the NYC office.

In a fresh chapter, we’ve entered what’s known as the “Craig” phase. On the set, that’s where we find ourselves, with tray tables around. They could hold a mint or some other item.

We’re stepping into a new time, the ‘Craig’ period, and that’s where we are, seated on the filming set. There are trays nearby, possibly containing mints or something else.

It became clear to us that every tray contained items belonging to Hoda, including an outdated can of bean dip, a stale contact lens, and assorted belly button lint.

In a conversation with Kotb, Guthrie, NBC News’ chief legal correspondent, playfully stated, “Hey there! Seems like you didn’t fancy any of this… I’m just here, by the way. Love you.

In the video, Guthrie showed an organized transparent storage box filled with assorted, seemingly random items that didn’t belong together. Later, she threw these items away into a close-by trash bin.

In her comment about the video, she expressed, ‘The tray in that clip was covered with rust and barnacles – it was just revolting!’

In simpler terms, Fallon, who is 50 years old, remembered an instance where he noticed Kotb carrying a bag overflowing with various items.

‘It looks like a binder of papers – it looked like my dad’s old wallet,’ Fallon said.

According to Guthrie, instead of using a traditional purse for important events like the red carpet, Kotb opted for a transparent Ziploc bag containing basic items, including a banana and a tampon.

On January 10th marked Kotb’s final day on the Today show, and Fallon was among the many esteemed personalities who paid tribute to the long-serving TV host. As a heartfelt gesture, he presented her with a beautifully framed image of the NBC peacock, an iconic symbol often displayed in the network’s New York offices.

Fallon explained to Kotb that he named the photograph “Onward and Upward” since you’re boarding the elevator and ascending, correct?

However, after putting my signature on it, the document became unreadable due to my atrocious handwriting. Since my penmanship is terrible, it appears as if it says ‘Osmond and Uptown’.

In a heartfelt segment during the show, Kotb expressed her admiration for both Guthrie and Melvin, exclaiming, “Savannah, you’re simply extraordinary to me, you’re truly extraordinary.

As a devoted admirer, let me tell you about a remarkable individual. She’s the one who’s consistently present, whether it’s in person or spiritually, and I can’t help but feel her presence. I appreciate each of you deeply.

She conveyed to Melvin, “I’m overjoyed for you, Craig! You truly deserve it, and it’s rightfully yours. As for me, I’ll be soundly asleep at 7:00 a.m. on Monday – but you’re going to shine brilliantly.

Craig, you’re going to do great today! You and Savannah together are going to create something special.

Kotb, who will carry on making unique guest appearances on NBC, such as during the Olympics broadcast, is a mom to two daughters: Haley, aged nine, and Hope, five years old. She shares these children with her former fiancé, Joel Schiffman.

After spending many years on the Today show, she plans to dedicate her time to raising her kids and also working on new business ventures such as a future wellness application.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself envisioning something extraordinary – a project that would bring joy and comfort to everyone. On the ninth of January, I shared this idea with Page Six, explaining that it would be both affordable and filled with all the necessary comforts. This endeavor will materialize in multiple forms: an innovative app, immersive retreats, and a captivating newsletter.
