Savannah Guthrie playfully remarked in January that her friend and co-worker, Hoda Kotb, had left an unsavory or unappealing mess when she departed from the Today show on NBC earlier this year.

On January 15, the Australian-born television personality, aged 53, made an appearance on The Tonight Show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon. Accompanying her was her new co-host, Craig Melvin, who is also 45 years old.

In her comment about the video, she expressed, ‘The tray in that clip was covered with rust and barnacles – it was just revolting!’

In simpler terms, Fallon, who is 50 years old, remembered an instance where he noticed Kotb carrying a bag overflowing with various items.

‘It looks like a binder of papers – it looked like my dad’s old wallet,’ Fallon said.

According to Guthrie, instead of using a traditional purse for important events like the red carpet, Kotb opted for a transparent Ziploc bag containing basic items, including a banana and a tampon.

On January 10th marked Kotb’s final day on the Today show, and Fallon was among the many esteemed personalities who paid tribute to the long-serving TV host. As a heartfelt gesture, he presented her with a beautifully framed image of the NBC peacock, an iconic symbol often displayed in the network’s New York offices.
