Kelly Brook has faced tough survival situations before, so appearing on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ and living without luxuries won’t be entirely new for her.
The 45-year-old British TV star is well-prepared for her Australian outback adventure, having previously survived being stranded on a desert island.
Kelly previously appeared in the 2005 erotic thriller Survival Island alongside her then-boyfriend, Billy Zane. They met while filming the movie and dated from 2004 to 2008.
In the movie, Kelly wore a revealing white bikini, showing off her fit physique, similar to the iconic jungle shower scene.
Kelly later confessed she felt the movie was a bit too explicit and requested that all her nude scenes be cut before it was shown in theaters.
Although Kelly asked for the change and Zane, her co-star and later partner, supported her, the studio didn’t make it when the movie came out in 2005.
The movie, sometimes called ‘Three,’ tells the story of a wealthy couple, Jack and Jennifer (played by Billy and Kelly), who are stranded on an island with a crew member named Manuel.
Things get even harder for them as they struggle to survive, and tensions rise, causing conflict while they’re stuck on the tropical island.
The trouble starts when Jack borrows Manuel’s fishing goggles without asking, and the ship’s steward gets very angry when he finds out.
Manuel attacks Jennifer and begins to sexually assault her. During the assault, Jennifer verbally submits, but this does not negate the initial non-consensual act.
Following their time together, Jennifer feels guilty, even though she initially enjoyed herself, and Manuel reveals his feelings for her. When Jack comes back, Jennifer unintentionally lets slip that something happened, leading to a furious rejection from him.
One day while fishing, Jack discovered a boat resting on the ocean floor. He pulled it to the beach and tried to fix it up.
That night, Manuel and Jennifer went swimming and began to make love while Jack watched from afar. Jennifer then suggested they steal the boat while Jack was fishing, hoping to escape the island together.
It was these scenes that Kelly and Billy tried to get edited.
As a longtime fan, I remember reading reports that she was really trying to reinvent herself and break away from the kinds of roles she’d been playing. It also came out around that time that her partner, Billy, wasn’t thrilled with some of the more intimate scenes she was doing – apparently, he felt uncomfortable or maybe even a little jealous about them.
Despite their efforts to work with the filmmakers, the nude scenes weren’t removed and stayed in the movie when it was released on DVD in the US in August 2006.
Kelly sees her time on ‘Jungle’ as a chance for a major career revival, not just a quick payout. She’s hoping it will lead to long-term success.

She’s strategically using her time on the show to showcase different facets of her personality, gain significant public attention, and kickstart a new business venture.

Legal teams are currently examining the application. If it’s approved, the trademark will be protected for a decade.
Daily Mail has contacted Kelly’s reps for comment.
This decision suggests Kelly is taking a similar path to Sophia Loren, the iconic Italian actress. Loren successfully transitioned from being known as a sex symbol to a savvy businesswoman, famously stating she was no longer focused on appealing to men.

Kelly, known for her confidence and curvy figure, is now starting a pasta business, and the connection between her embracing her body and this new venture is obvious.
Although she’s trying to be recognized for more than just her looks, Kelly promised to still bring the heat to the famous Jungle shower with her carefully chosen bikinis.
To maximize her visibility and appeal to viewers, the actress had her bikinis tested to ensure they looked good on camera.
Kelly shared with the Mail on Sunday that she’s brought a wide variety of bikinis for her time in the jungle, and hasn’t yet decided which ones she’ll wear.
‘They’ve all gone off to wardrobe to get tested on camera, so they’ll decide for me.’
The Kent-born beauty, who landed her first modelling job at 16, will turn 46 in the Jungle.
She shared that she feels fantastic, both physically and mentally. At 46, she’s confident and happy with her body, and proudly embraces her curves.
Kelly intends to recreate a famous moment from Myleene Klass’s time on the show. Klass caused a sensation in 2006 when she wore a white bikini while showering on camera.
That iconic moment is famous in I’m A Celebrity history, and many think it’s what helped Myleene, now 47, become a runner-up. Since then, lots of celebrities have tried to recreate it.
The radio host shared that Myleene had mentioned the shower to her before going on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’.
She told me she had to rush out and buy a bikini when she got there. I learned from that and made sure to pack lots of swimsuits so we’d have plenty to choose from.
That famous scene with her in a white bikini, the one in the shower where she looked amazing, wasn’t something they planned beforehand. It just happened naturally.
It would be nearly impossible to replicate that moment; it was destined to happen, and it was perfectly timed for her.
As someone who’s followed Kelly’s career, I know she’s always been incredibly polished. But going into the jungle, she’s really hoping to show a more authentic, raw side of herself. She’s even hinted that viewers might be surprised – it’s going to be a different Kelly than they’re used to seeing!
She said: ‘I’m not a 20-year-old bikini model anymore. You know, I am a very different person.
‘I am older, but I am still strong and I am still fit, and that is the most important thing.’
Kelly burst onto the glamour scene in 1997 and soon became adored by readers as a Page 3 icon.
