Kelly Brook, 44, shows off her incredible curves in a zebra print bikini set as she makes the most of the summer heatwave – after revealing she’s quit acting for good
As I delve into the kaleidoscopic career of Kelly Brook, I am struck by her remarkable resilience and versatility as an artist. From gracing the silver screen as a mermaid to hosting her own daytime show for ITV, her journey has been nothing short of captivating.
On a hot Wednesday, Kelly Brook displayed her stunning figure, following her announcement that she has permanently stepped away from acting.
44-year-old television and radio host, adorned in a stylish bikini featuring zebra stripes, posed gracefully alongside her husband, the Italian model Jeremy Parisi, during a leisurely outing in a local park.
As scorching heat persists over the United Kingdom and much of Europe, Kelly wisely found respite under the shelter of a grand tree, keeping herself comfortable under a broad-rimmed sun hat.
Following the confession by the renowned British presenter, known for hosting the largest daily Drive Time program on Heart FM in London, that she has largely stepped away from acting in films and television due to her self-proclaimed poor acting skills, the post was made.
As a seasoned lifestyle expert looking back on my journey, I embarked on my on-screen career an impressive 28 years ago. Over the years, my versatile repertoire has taken me from local screens to international stages, even granting me a brief foray into the glamorous world of Hollywood.
Instead, Kelly openly shared the various factors that led to her giving up acting, since she candidly confessed: ‘I wasn’t good at acting.’
She shared with The Daily Star, “I plan to step away from acting. Prolonged absence from home isn’t something I enjoy.”
I prefer resting in my personal bedroom, as I have a furry companion to care for. Acting wasn’t exactly my strong suit, and I often find it quite draining.
1. “Since I have a strong, distinct character, it’s challenging for me to pretend to be someone else. Even when told that I was married to someone, I found myself genuinely feeling like I was after just two weeks. This was an extremely difficult and unfortunate predicament.”
“Telling Jeremy that I’ll be away for six weeks, pretending to be Ryan Reynolds’ lover, doesn’t sound like a good idea at all. I’m quite certain he wouldn’t approve of it.”
In 1996, at the tender age of seventeen, Kelly kick-started her acting journey by playing a high school student on the second season of the BBC’s comedic program, Fist of Fun.
In the year 2000, the actress first graced the silver screen with a modest part in the chilling British movie titled “Sorted”. The following year, she featured in the blood-curdling film “Ripper”, a slasher production.
Dipping back into television work, in 2001, Kelly appeared in four episodes of Smallville.
In the year 2003, she played a small part as Jason Statham’s love interest (who was also Seth Green’s character’s girlfriend) in the movie “The Italian Job.” At that time, she was dating Jason Statham.
Afterward, she landed her debut prominent part in the British independent film “School for Seduction,” where she portrayed a seductive Italian character.
In the year 2005, she appeared in the movie “Three,” an unsuccessful erotic thriller set on a desert island. During this production, she crossed paths with her former fiancé, Billy Zane. Although it had a premiere on London’s West End, the film was heavily criticized by critics and was directly released to DVD in the United States instead of hitting theaters.
Once more, the pair collaborated on a film titled “Fishtails,” another romantic production similar to “Splash.” In this story, Kelly takes on the role of a mermaid character.
The movie was taken to Cannes, yet it didn’t create much of a ripple and had a restricted screening in British theaters before being directly released on DVD in U.S. cinemas.
In the year 2006, Kelly made an appearance in a television drama based on Agatha Christie’s Marple, which was broadcasted on ITV. Then, in 2009, she featured as herself across the entire second season of ITV’s Moving Wallpaper series.
In 2010, Kelly starred in horror film Piranha 3D, which grossed an admirable $83million worldwide.
In that very year, I found myself utterly thrilled to learn that my beloved actress was all set to grace the screen in “Hotel Caledonia”. This captivating tale revolves around a group of backpackers who find themselves employed at a remote, enigmatic Scottish inn.
The film didn’t proceed because its main stars, Gillian Anderson and Jaime Pressley, decided to withdraw from it.
In 2012, Kelly made an appearance as herself in the film “Keith Lemon: The Movie.” Despite receiving widespread criticism, it managed to earn a gross of £4 million at the British box office.
Back in May 2015, the NBC American sitcom “One Big Happy,” starring Kelly, was unfortunately terminated following only six episodes, owing to its poor performance in the ratings.
She expressed in a social media post that the job was remarkably engaging, stimulating creativity to its utmost, and incredibly fulfilling – a position unlike any other she’s held before, as she said goodbye to the brief television show.
As a fervent admirer, let me share my thoughts on “One Big Happy,” a captivating series that had the privilege to feature the remarkable Elisha Cuthbert. This show revolved around the compelling tale of a lesbian woman, who found herself in an extraordinary situation – carrying her best friend’s child!
Towards the close of 2015, Kelly starred as the main character, Kate, in the comedic drama movie “Taking Stock,” which aired on MTV.
The movie, reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde, narrates the tale of Kate, a former retail assistant who lost her job, devising a plot to steal from the store that led to her termination.
In 2019, Kelly made the movie to radio when she joined Heart FM as a co-host with JK (Jason King).
She is now poised to star in new ITV reality show La Dolce Vita with husband Jeremy Parisi.
The programme will follow Kelly and husband as they leave London for rural Italy.
Viewers will watch them set up life on Jeremy’s family farm, which is where they married in 2022.
On Wednesday, 14 August, at 9:00 pm, you can catch Kelly as the star of the series “Race Across the World” on both iPlayer and BBC One.
