Kellie Pickler’s In-Laws Take Legal Action After Son’s Tragic Death: Shocking New Developments!

Kellie Pickler’s late son’s parents, her former in-laws, have served a subpoena as part of the ongoing legal dispute involving the singer, stemming from his untimely demise two years prior.

38-year-old artist famed for her Red High Heels songs had been married to Kyle Jacobs prior, who tragically took his life through a self-inflicted gunshot wound in February 2023 at the age of 49.

In legal papers acquired by InTouch Weekly, Reed and Sharon Jacobs, the deceased person’s parents, issued a subpoena to Harpeth Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Cremation Center to gather further details about their son’s funeral and cremation procedures.

They’ve asked the funeral home to disclose information about any items that were cremated alongside their deceased son, along with documents detailing the services performed for Kyle.

Reed and Sharon asked that the funeral home supply documents with the information on March 26.

However, they claim that the company didn’t comply but has yet to object to the subpoena.

Harpeth Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Cremation Center lies beyond Nashville, the city where Jacob’s unfortunate demise took place.

As a devoted follower, I humbly ask that the funeral home kindly provide me with records detailing any personal belongings of Kyle that were handed over to you upon arrival and the subsequent handling or distribution of these items.

As a devoted fan, I too am curious about any discussions that might have taken place between the funeral home and the late songwriter’s close acquaintance, Pickler, as reported by Us Weeky.

At the tail end of last year, in the month of November, I discovered that there had been a legal tussle involving Kellie, Reed, and Sharon regarding Kyle’s private possessions.

In that period, the singer lodged a complaint with the court against her ex-relatives who manage Kyle’s estate, alleging ownership of certain items that they assert were Kyle’s before he passed away, as stated in the court records we acquired from InTouch.

Even though Kellie and Kylie have been a couple since 2008, Pickler opted out of managing his estate, enabling his parents to assume control instead.

The argument revolves around a document known as the ‘List of Assets,’ which was compiled by Kyle’s parents and contains items they have subpoenaed. This detail has been reported by the media source.

In the list provided, you’ll find Kyle’s array of firearms, comprising three rifles, seven handguns, a shotgun, a suppressor (silencer), and a gun cabinet (gun safe).

Additionally, Kyle’s watch collection, jewelry items, baseball cards, musical instruments, and personal gadgets like his work computer and iPhone are also included.

Pickler’s lawyer claimed that certain items aren’t in her control, or there’s a question about who actually owns them.

In her plea, Pickler asserted that Kyle’s parents rummaged through her house following his demise, yet they failed to present her with an inventory of the items they had removed.

The singer asked the court to compel Reed and Sharon to identify the items they removed.

According to the petition, Ms. Pickler asks for a court order compelling the co-administrators to disclose the items they took from her house during this process.

Pickler also asked the court to resolve the ongoing conflict regarding the property.

Instead, Reed and Sharon challenge Pickler’s statements, maintaining that she has breached a subpoena by failing to return the estate’s belongings as instructed.

It was stated that Pickler has been difficult to work with, giving inconsistent details regarding the whereabouts and possession of the belongings.

The Jacobs family acknowledged that they went to Pickler’s house to get specific items, however, they continue to assert that Pickler had given them her express permission and had extended an invitation to them, along with her legal representative.

Additionally, they asserted that Pickler had already arranged the questioned items specifically for them, making a written inventory or list unnecessary.

The division of property as stated in the couple’s prenuptial agreement is causing disagreement. Reed and Sharon are asking for Pickler’s petition to be thrown out, stating that they should abide by the terms outlined in their contract.

In simpler terms, a court issued an order to keep Kellie’s deposition transcript or video private, as her lawyers believed that making it public could lead to unnecessary humiliation and trouble for her.

The Jacobs family have expressed disagreement with this protective order, stating that the court’s reasoning behind the decision was not clearly explained, particularly in relation to preventing ’embarrassment.’

At present, the matter is still being addressed, and a court hearing regarding it has been scheduled for later this month, according to a report published by InTouch on Friday.

In June 2024, Kellie sold the home she shared with Kyle 15 months after he passed away.

Approximately half a year after initially placing it on the market for approximately $3 million, the country musician successfully completed the transaction for the sale of their four-bedroom, five-bathroom, custom-designed residence, which ultimately went for $2.3 million.

In a heartbeat, let me tell you about this enchanting Tudor-style abode I’ve been captivated by – an astonishing 4,875 square foot home that has held the memories of a beloved couple for years. Tragically, it was here where our cherished artist took his final breath at the tender age of 49, back in February 2023.

Approximately nine months following his unfortunate demise, she listed their home for sale at a price of $2.89 million. In March, she lowered the asking price to $2.6 million, hoping to quickly find a buyer for the property.

Previously, the contestant from American Idol, who achieved prominence following her sixth-place finish during the fifth season, had bought the property back in January 2010 for $1.43 million – a purchase made exactly a year before her wedding to the music producer.

In August 2023, after remaining silent for some time, Kellie shared her thoughts on Kyle’s passing in a statement released to People. She expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the compassion and support she received during ‘the most challenging period of my existence.’

She shared that one of the most beautiful lessons her husband imparted was during challenging times, when unsure of action, simply “remain calm and stay still.” I have opted to follow this guidance.

I’d like to express my gratitude to my loved ones – family, friends, and well-wishers – for the multitude of letters, phone calls, and messages that have reached me.

Or simply:

Many thanks to family, friends, and supporters for all the letters, calls, and messages they’ve sent me.

Both versions convey the same meaning but with slightly different tones. The first one is a bit more formal while the second one is more casual and conversational.

Towards the end, Pickler expressed, ‘It’s deeply moved me and assisting me in navigating the toughest period of my life. Just as many of you have shared, I want you to know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers…’
