Kellie Finlayson appears relaxed as she arrives for her In Conversation event in Sydney’s Newtown amid cancer battle – alongside pregnant TV star Liv Phyland
Kellie Finlayson is promoting her brand new book.
On a vibrant Wednesday in Sydney’s Newtown, the wife of an AFL player, currently fighting cancer, showed up with high spirits for her “In Conversation” gathering. This event was organized to commemorate the launch of her book, titled “There Must Be More!
In a casual manner, the 29-year-old woman sauntered along the bustling street before entering the event with an air of composure.
Kellie dressed in a casually chic ensemble including a black top under a matching cardigan.
She also included a set of shimmering light gray jeans adorned with sparkles, along with a pair of stylish pointy heels.

She chose a minimalistic makeup style featuring a soft nude lipstick, while letting her golden locks cascade freely around her features.
Also at the event was host Liv Phyland who recently announced she is expecting her second child.
The television host covered up her baby bump in under a camel trench coat worn with brown boots.
After Kellie shared that her husband’s teammates at Port Adelaide secretly paid for her $10,000 wedding ring when she was struggling with escalating medical expenses due to cancer treatment, something followed.
Through generous actions spearheaded by seasoned midfielder Travis Boak, the couple’s dream wedding became a reality despite their tight finances being strained due to chemotherapy treatments and frequent hospital visits.
Kellie and husband Jeremy Finlayson had planned to marry in October 2023.
However, everything took a drastic turn when Kellie received the heart-wrenching update from her cancer specialist. Unfortunately, her bowel cancer had resurfaced and metastasized to her lungs, making it an incurable condition.
The doctors advised that she might start losing her hair within the next few weeks, causing the couple to hasten their wedding plans.

Approximately four weeks before the event, their wedding was held at Tennyson Beach in South Australia, with loved ones such as close friends and relatives present.
Kellie never thought her dream ring would be part of the day.
She stated that when swift action was necessary, thoughts regarding the ring were completely out of her mind.
‘It just wasn’t something we could afford.’
When Jeremy’s teammates got involved, they chipped in to purchase the very ring that Kellie had long desired for me.
To me, it felt incredibly meaningful,” she expressed. “Not only did they support Jeremy, but their presence also meant a lot to me.
Oh boy, let me tell you, that day was overflowing with feelings! I, standing there, could barely contain my excitement as little Sophia, just 19 months old, gracefully made her way down the aisle, clutching a bundle of daisies in her tiny hands like a seasoned flower girl. It was nothing short of magical!
Kellie followed arm in arm with her father and maid of honour.

‘There wasn’t a dry eye in the room,’ she said.
As Kell strolled down the aisle accompanied by her father, Jeremy found himself awestruck. “Seeing her walk down the aisle was simply awe-inspiring,” he commented. “It ranks among the most cherished moments of my life.
He quietly assured their daughter, Sophia, “I’ve pledged to look after you when your mom is unable, and I will honor that commitment for as long as I live.
Kellie was first diagnosed with stage-four bowel cancer in 2021 at just 25.
At the time, she was three months postpartum and mistook her symptoms for normal recovery.
It wasn’t until she noticed blood in her stool that she sought medical help.
Scans uncovered a large bowel blockage. Surgery and chemotherapy followed.
For a brief moment, there was hope the cancer had gone.
But by Christmas 2022, the disease had metastasised to her lungs.

The diagnosis crushed plans for more children. Chemotherapy left her infertile.
Kellie and Jeremy tried to grow their family through surrogacy. Seven attempts failed.
She details the grief, pain and resilience in her memoir There Must Be More!
In this account, she outlines the bodily consequences of undergoing therapy, detailing alarming instances of anaphylactic shock as part of that experience.
She shares how it feels emotionally draining to miss out on special moments with Sophia and celebrate anniversaries in hospitals instead.
Currently, Kellie serves as a representative for the Jodi Lee Foundation, encouraging all Australians to pay close attention to any signs related to their bowels.
