Keith Urban takes to the stage with INXS star to perform iconic hit Never Tear Us Apart – ahead of 2025 High and Alive Tour Down Under
Over the weekend, Keith Urban left fans amazed as he teamed up for a stunning rendition of INXS’s iconic song “Never Tear Us Apart.
57-year-old Australian country musician shared the stage with Andrew Farriss during the performance. Farriss is a founding member and gifted songwriter from the legendary band.
Amidst an enthusiastic crowd of supporters, the duo took center stage at Nashville’s famous Grand Ole Opry, delivering an electrifying performance.
They were standing next to each other as they performed a duet of the popular song, playing their guitars simultaneously in an amazing performance.
As a die-hard fan, I found myself front and center as the concert commenced, and there was no one else but the legendary Andrew, age 65, gracing the stage. He launched into a series of his timeless classics that have echoed through decades of my life. And then, in a moment I’d waited for all my days, he beckoned Keith to join him on stage.
When Andrew presented the renowned country singer (who later became famous) to the crowd, he reminisced about their initial encounter, which took place before Keith’s rise to fame in Australia.
He said he was asked to give Keith some advice about his performance skills.
Keith descended and began playing music and singing. I watched him and commented, “You don’t require any guidance; all you need is to continue as you are,” Andrew reminisced.
I can hardly believe it! I’ve been following him from the start, and now he’s more than just a star – he’s a living legend. His hit records are massive, his international success is unparalleled, he’s a multi-award winning artist, and to top it all off, he’s a part of the Grand Ole Opry. It’s surreal!
With a burst of cheers and jubilant shouts, the audience erupted as Keith emerged onstage, clutching his guitar.
Keith expressed his genuine pleasure at collaborating on this particular tune with Andrew Farriss, prior to their seamless start of the performance.
In 1987, Andrew penned the popular song “Never Tear Us Apart,” which was sung by the lead vocalist of INXS, Michael Hutchence. Sadly, Hutchence passed away unexpectedly in 1997 at the age of 37.
Before his 2025 High and Alive Tour in Australia in August, there will be a duet performance by Keith featuring a band member.
He hasn’t visited the country since December 2022, but he’s embarking on a new tour starting now, which is aimed at promoting his freshly released album titled “High.
