Keith Urban may have hinted at trouble in his marriage to Nicole Kidman following their surprising separation.

Following their recent split after 19 years of marriage, country star Keith Urban is now featured in the new CBS show, The Road. The series showcases 12 aspiring country musicians competing for the chance to open for him at a future concert.

The show’s first episode, which debuted in the US on Sunday, featured Keith performing his song, “Straight Line.”

‘Why we livin’ every day in circles? Just burnin’ out, burnin’ out,’ he sings on the track.

‘I don’t wanna just go through the motions. Goin’ round and round. It’s takin’ us down.’

The song selection likely hinted at the difficulties Keith is experiencing in his marriage. He’s shared before that the song is about escaping from draining and unsatisfying patterns in life.

Last February, Keith used his Instagram account to share a promotional post about the song with his 2.8 million followers.

He explained that Straight Line is about escaping a dull, unsatisfying routine that many people experience.

It’s about rediscovering your passion and feeling hopeful again – whether that’s in a relationship, at work, with a hobby, or simply within yourself. It’s about moving past difficult times and feeling truly alive.

During the episode, Keith also shared how much sacrifice it takes to be away from family and friends for a long time.

‘Where do we start?’ he said, laying bare his thoughts on tour life.

‘It’s a calling, and you’re going to do it or you’re not going to make it.

Imagine waking up feeling terribly ill on a tour bus at 3:30 AM, stranded far from anywhere, with another show scheduled for later that night. You’re exhausted from lack of sleep, and you’re feeling homesick and utterly alone. It’s in moments like those that you start to question why you’re putting yourself through it all.

‘The only answer can be: Because this is what I’m born to do.’

Okay, so he was talking about the competition, and honestly, it sent chills down my spine! He said they’re going to really see who has what it takes, who’s built for that kind of pressure. It’s like, finally, they’re going to discover the true contenders! I’m so ready to see who breaks and who shines – this is going to be amazing!

Keith spoke out shortly after Nicole Kidman filed for divorce on September 30th, ending their 19-year marriage.

The former couple had been kept apart recently amid their hectic filming and touring schedules.

They share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban got married in 2006, five years after Kidman’s divorce from Tom Cruise. Their wedding was a traditional Catholic ceremony held at the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel in Sydney, Australia, where Kidman grew up.

Just a day after news of their breakup became public, Nicole Kidman officially filed for divorce, stating that they had differences that couldn’t be resolved.

The actress from Moulin Rouge asked the court to name her as the main parent where the children live.

According to the Daily Mail, sources say that Urban has started dating a female musician, though her identity hasn’t been revealed.

There were rumors connecting him romantically to both 25-year-old country singer Maggie Baugh and 32-year-old singer Kelsea Ballerini.

Nicole was reportedly left ‘blindsided’ by the separation.

A source stated, ‘Keith never sees Nicole, either she is filming or he is on tour. 

Despite their deep love for each other, a divorce remains a possibility. However, even if they stay together, they’ve grown so distant that they feel like strangers, living separate lives within the same relationship.

Keith and Nicole have been a couple for many years, and while they could potentially find their way back to each other, their relationship isn’t functioning as a partnership right now.
