During his concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Thursday, Keith Urban unexpectedly removed the 2016 song The Fighter from his performance, following the surprise news of his separation from Nicole Kidman.
The country singer, 57 years old – who recently performed live for the first time since reports of his separation surfaced – reportedly wrote the song about his soon-to-be ex-wife.
However, the singer chose not to perform the song during his High and Alive World Tour on Thursday. The tour is scheduled to finish later this month on October 17th in Nashville.
This happened shortly after a video of his performance in The Fighter gained popularity online. He had changed the lyrics to mention Maggie Baugh, a member of his team. Rumors of a romantic relationship between the two began circulating following Urban’s divorce from Nicole Kidman.
The song originally included these lines: ‘When people try to bother you, I’ll always stand up for you.’
In a video clip, Urban was heard singing, ‘Maggie, I’ll be your fighter,‘ which she then shared on Instagram, questioning with the caption, ‘Did he just say that?’
Keith Urban continued his practice of tweaking his performances, making another adjustment during his show in Pennsylvania on Thursday. This time, he changed the lyrics to his well-known song about heartbreak, You’ll Think of Me.
The singer typically performed the lines, ‘Take your space and take your reasons,’ however, they decided to alter the ending to, ‘Take your bulls reasons,’ according to Us Weekly.
This week, as he took the stage again at the Giant Center following his separation from Kidman, Urban was seen without his wedding ring.
During his 2024 performance of “Heart Like a Hometown,” the singer made a strange gesture towards his separated wife. He included a photo of Kidman and their teenage daughters in the slideshow shown to the audience.
He later shared with his followers details about growing up, explaining that his parents supported his decision to leave school and focus on music as a career, according to People.
Urban was seen rocking out in a gray shirt and mingling with fans during the performance.
Just before the concert, people saw him arriving at Harrisburg International Airport, and it was clear his wedding ring was no longer on his finger.
This news surfaced just days after his separation from Nicole Kidman became public – the Oscar winner, 58, officially filed for divorce on Tuesday after 19 years of marriage. They share two daughters: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
On Tuesday, his wife filed for divorce, stating that irreconcilable differences were the cause of their unexpected split.
The two previously married individuals first met in 2005 and announced their engagement in May 2006. Just a month later, they tied the knot at the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in Sydney, Australia. It was a beautiful ceremony.

Urban and Kidman were last seen together in public in June of this year. They went to a FIFA World Cup match held in Nashville, Tennessee.
The actress, who is Australian-American, currently lives in Nashville with her two teenage children in a home worth $4 million.

The parenting plan, officially notarized, was signed by the Academy Award-winning actress on September 6th. Her soon-to-be ex-husband signed it a little earlier, on August 29th.
The ex-couple have agreed to forgo both child and spousal support, and they will each pay half of the legal fees.
