Keira Knightley’s Divisive A24 Movie Returning To Streaming 12 Years After Quiet Theatrical Release

Keira Knightley’s film with A24, which received mixed reactions, will become available to stream twelve years after it first came out in theaters. This gives the movie a second chance to find an audience.

Keira Knightley often takes on challenging roles, and the 2014 film Laggies is no exception. The romantic comedy, which also stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Sam Rockwell, and Mark Webber, didn’t earn rave reviews, scoring 64% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and only 50% from viewers.

The romantic comedy Laggies, from A24, is coming to Netflix on February 20th. The film centers on Megan, a 28-year-old who attends her high school reunion and begins to feel stuck in her life. When her boyfriend proposes, she impulsively runs away and unexpectedly finds a fresh perspective through a friendship with a teenager named Annika.

I have to say, Laggies really slipped under the radar when it first came out. It only made about $2.4 million worldwide with a pretty small release. It’s a shame, too, because the cast is fantastic. It was totally overshadowed by the bigger movies that were out at the time. But now that it’s hit Netflix, I think Laggies is finally getting the attention it deserves – it’s a real second chance for Keira Knightley’s film, and I’m glad people are discovering it now.

Keira Knightley is famous for her work in historical films like Atonement and Pride & Prejudice, but she’s also appeared in popular movies such as the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Love Actually, and Black Doves. Fans are currently waiting for the second season of Black Doves, where she’ll reprise her role as Helen Webb.

A24 is known for many genres, but they’ve released a handful of romance movies that have resonated with viewers, like their recent film, Eternity, featuring Elizabeth Olsen, Callum Turner, and Miles Teller. Other A24 romance titles include We Live in Time, The Lobster, After Yang, The Spectacular Now, and Materialists.

I’m so excited for all the new movies A24 has coming out! They’ve got a bunch of really interesting projects lined up, like The Moment and Pillion. Plus, I can’t wait to see Glen Powell in How to Make a Killing and Undertone looks intriguing. But honestly, I’m most hyped for The Drama – Zendaya and Robert Pattinson together? Yes, please! And Mother Mary sounds amazing too. Oh, and how cool is it that Hugh Jackman is playing Robin Hood in The Death of Robin Hood, with Jodie Comer alongside him? A24 is really doing it all!

Keira Knightley’s movie Laggies will premiere on Netflix on February 20.
