As a seasoned resident of this charming coastal town, I must say that the recent spectacle of fireworks has left me both awestruck and somewhat amused. Having lived through the days of actual bombings during my youth, the sight of flashing lights and thunderous sounds was initially quite unnerving. However, upon realizing it was merely a movie production, I couldn’t help but be impressed by the sheer scale and grandeur of it all.
This week, Keira Knightley and Hannah Waddingham joined their fellow cast members during the ongoing filming of Netflix’s The Woman in Cabin 10 at Spencer Mathews‘ ancestral home, Glen Affric in Scotland.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d say, “In my latest role, at age 39, I dazzled on set in a stunning, backless maroon dress, fitting the part perfectly as we attended a lavish dinner within a grand glass marquee for our characters.
As I, a devoted admirer of fashion, gracefully donned a chic little black dress, I added a dash of glamour with a vibrant pink blazer and a stunning diamond necklace, making me feel absolutely fabulous at 50, just like Hannah did.
Alongside Guy Pearce, aged 57, who looked sharp in a timeless tuxedo, both he and Keira were seen performing on stage during a scene that appeared particularly intense.
The 56-mile wide Glen Affric estate boasts incredible Highland views as well as luxury £12K-a-night accommodation, where Spencer, 36, wife Vogue, 39, and three children opted to spend their Christmas last year.

The place is situated 15 miles away from Loch Ness, and it was bought by David, Spencer’s businessman father, back in 2018.
The movie is adapted from Ruth Ware’s popular book with the same title, and it features Keira in the role of a travel writer embarking on a cruise ship journey. During this trip, she observes a murder taking place, yet her account is met with disbelief by everyone around her.
Last month while filming in the coast town of Portland Harbour, Dorset the production left residents ‘terrified’ after setting off fireworks from a superyacht.
Despite an early notice given to the residents about the sequence of five-minute fireworks shows, numerous local inhabitants ended up irritated due to the prolonged noise spanning over a period of three hours.
Several people found the event excessively noisy, causing disturbances for sleeping kids, startling pets, and making it seem as if a conflict had broken out to some attendees.
As a devoted admirer, let me share my thoughts: “I wish I’d been forewarned! The moment that first blast echoed, my windows trembled, and my young pup turned into a quivering bundle of fear. It seems like everyone was focused on themselves, but what about our beloved pets? Is no one considering their well-being?
While another explained she had a dog having a meltdown and a herd of frightened horses.
And a third said: ‘Flipping loud and past my bed time, just when I thought they’d finish, it would start again.’

As a devoted observer, I recall instances where the noise from those bangs caused me to question if a bombing was underway or if perhaps the Russians were invading.
However, a local resident commented: “Perhaps it’s high time those who harbor negativity take control of their lives. This development has infused thousands of pounds into our community. A series of warnings have been posted.
As a devoted admirer, if this were an ordinary fireworks show along the coast of Weymouth, I’d be overjoyed beyond measure. Given that it appears to be a film production, I can’t help but speculate that it surpasses any display the local council could ever stage.
Dorset Council has collaborated with film producers, expressing their eagerness to attract film crews to the region.
A representative stated that Dorset Council is eager to foster the creative sectors, offering a film-friendly atmosphere, and invites production firms looking to shoot in the region to make their inquiries.

We highly recommend that film and top-tier television productions think about using Dorset as a location. This is due to our understanding of the positive impacts these productions can have on the broader economy. They can stimulate tourism and hospitality, increase earnings for locals and businesses in the area.
In simpler terms, our Film Dorset group assists in obtaining permits for filming at locations managed by Dorset Council, while our local teams at parks, harbors, and properties provide operational support, leveraging their local insights and expertise.
In a spirit of collaboration with movie producers who value responsibility, we aim to partner with them, understanding that they acknowledge our duty to preserve Dorset’s exceptional natural beauty. Our goal is to enhance Dorset as an ideal location for living, employment, and tourism.
