Keely Hodgkinson enjoys a fashion week reunion with Team GB stars Imani-Lara Lansiquot and Katarina Johnson-Thompson – after going for gold in a stunning sheer yellow dress
As an ardent admirer of Keely Hodgkinson’s extraordinary journey, I find myself utterly enamored by her latest exploits at London Fashion Week. The girl from Manchester, who conquered the 800 meters track in Paris, now struts her stuff on the red carpet with grace and elegance that would put even Hollywood actresses to shame!
On Monday evening, during London Fashion Week, Keely Hodgkinson had a pleasant reunion with two of her fellow Team GB teammates.
At the 40th anniversary Icons party held at Kensington Roof Gardens, the middle-distance runner claimed gold not just on the track but also off it, captivating everyone with her elegant yellow evening gown.
22-year-old Hodgkinson had another stylish public outing, following his attendance at Burberry’s summer 2025 fashion show earlier in the day, where he secured a prime spot in the front row, and then proceeded to attend the party afterwards.
She found herself among friends after reconnecting with sprinter Imani-Lara Lansiquot and heptathlete Katarina Johnson- Thompson at the evening gathering.
Later on, the Manchester runner reshared a picture of herself with her fellow Olympians, which Lansiquot had initially posted. The accompanying caption read: ‘Our track friends are simply unbeatable.’
Hodgkinson was remarkably elegant in her long gown, very similar to the one Kate Hudson wore in the 2003 movie “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
The Olympian, who won gold in the 800 metres at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has plenty of time on her hands after confirming a knee injury has prematurely ended her season.
She was set to run a 400-meter race in Berlin, marking her first competition since Paris. Additionally, she had plans to participate in Diamond League events in Zurich and Brussels towards the beginning of the following month.
However, due to a minor setback during her comeback to the racetrack after her brief post-Olympic rest, she won’t compete this year anymore.
SportsMail comprehends that Hodgkinson sustained a tear on the outer side of her knee, which is similar to the injury that kept her sidelined during the indoor season this past winter.
She shared on Instagram, “I won’t be participating in any more races this time, as I ended up with a minor injury. However, we managed to accomplish all that I had planned for this year.
‘Thank you for all the love and support. See you on the track next year.’
Jenny Meadows, her coach, commented: ‘I’m disappointed we didn’t end with more flair, as there’s still plenty of energy and motivation. But overall, it’s been a good season.’
This year, I couldn’t help but be utterly captivated by Hodgkinson’s extraordinary performances on the track! In June, she defended her European title over 800 meters in Rome, leaving everyone in awe. But wait, there’s more! The highlight of my athletics year was witnessing her claim her first global gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Simply incredible!
She also lowered her British record to 1min 54.61sec, moving her up to sixth on the all-time list.
As a die-hard enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating my upcoming engagements. In March, I’ll find myself at the European Indoor Championships, held in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Later that same month, I’ll journey to Nanjing, China for the World Indoors event. Can’t wait!
