As a longtime fan of gripping thrillers and captivating performances, I am absolutely thrilled about the upcoming series, “The Assassin,” starring the incredible Keeley Hawes! Her acting prowess, especially showcased in shows like “Bodyguard” and “It’s a Sin,” has always left me on the edge of my seat. The fact that she will be playing a retired assassin named Julie alongside Freddie Highmore in this new series only heightens my anticipation.
Keeley Hawes will front the cast of new thriller The Assassin, from the team behind The Tourist.
An actor known for roles in “Bodyguard” and “It’s a Sin” will take on the part of a former assassin named Julie, with Freddie Highmore, who has appeared in “The Good Doctor” and “Bates Motel,” playing her distant son Edward in the production.
Edward journeys to the secluded Greek island that Julie calls home, seeking answers about his paternity. However, their peaceful visit takes an ominous turn as a sinister aspect of Julie’s history emerges, forcing them into hiding to evade danger and stay alive.
If the conspiracy isn’t fatal for them, there’s still a possibility that it may permanently ruin any prospects of a healthy relationship between Julie and Edward.

Filming is now underway in Greece as the creative duo behind “The Tourist”, Harry and Jack Williams, take on the roles of both creators and writers. Their production company, Two Brothers Pictures, is responsible for this project, which will be broadcast on Amazon’s streaming platform, Prime Video.
In addition to the already announced actors are Jack Davenport from “Pirates of the Caribbean,” Gina Gershon known for her role in “Riverdale,” Richard Dormer who gained fame on “Game of Thrones,” Shalom Brune-Franklin from “Baby Reindeer,” Devon Terrell, Gerald Kyd, David Dencik, and the legendary Alan Dale from “Neighbours.”
More cast members are set to be announced in due course.

Sarah Hammond, the executive producer, expressed her excitement as filming for our exhilarating new Two Brothers Pictures thriller kicked off in Greece. We’ll be capturing scenes at several stunning locations throughout the country.
“It’s a joy for us to collaborate with the exceptional skills of Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore, alongside our top-notch production crew. Together, we aim to deliver this fresh series, brimming with unexpected plots, excitement, and humor, to screens globally.”
As of now, a specific launch date hasn’t been announced, but “The Assassin” is planned to consist of six one-hour episodes.
