Keanu Reeves shuts down John Wick return: “The character’s dead”
Keanu Reeves has said that we shouldn’t expect John Wick to make a proper return.
Keanu Reeves, who starred in the Matrix, portrayed a canine-loving hitman across four movies. His character’s fate was sealed during the finale of Chapter 4.
Unlike some films and series that employ the tactic of feigned or reversed deaths, or travel back in time after a character’s demise for additional storytelling, John Wick will steer clear of such methods as confirmed by Reeves.
As a gaming enthusiast, I should mention that there’s an interesting twist: a standalone movie, bridging the gap between Chapters 3 and 4, has announced my return.
He mentioned that there exists a variant named Ballerina, set within the universe of John Wick. Incidentally, John Wick himself appears briefly in it. Apart from this tidbit, he’s clueless about anything else.
“You know, the character’s dead. He died in John Wick: Chapter 4,” Reeves continued, with a laugh.
In Hollywood, they often say, ‘Anything is possible.’ But currently, as far as I know, there are no set plans.
Director Chad Stahelski has noted that the fourth installment of the John Wick series serves as a concluding chapter for the character, stating that “it’s not something you can continue after John Wick: Chapter 4. It’s just not.
He mentioned that work is being done on a potential fifth movie, but he characterized it more as a trial run or practice session rather than a definite project underway.
We’ve got some fantastic concepts in mind, but they wouldn’t fit within the narrative of John Wick: Chapter 4. They wouldn’t align with your usual expectations.” He explained.
You can purchase or rent the John Wick films on Amazon Prime Video, as well as on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD formats. The movie “Ballerina” is scheduled to be released on June 6th.
