Keanu Reeves’ 2025 R-Rated Fantasy Flop Is Now Redeemed As American Streaming Sensation

Despite a recent, unsuccessful R-rated film, Keanu Reeves is now seeing success with his 2025 release, which is performing well almost four months after its debut.

Aziz Ansari, famous for his role in Parks and Recreation, recently directed his first movie, Good Fortune, starring Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen. The fantasy film is now doing well in the US, and is currently the most popular movie on the STARZ streaming platform.

Alongside Aziz Ansari, Keke Palmer and Sandra Oh also star in Good Fortune. The movie cost around $30 million to make, but it didn’t perform well in theaters, earning a total of $26.2 million worldwide. Of that, $16.5 million came from tickets sold in the US, and $9.6 million came from international sales.

In a review for ScreenRant, Rachel Labonte noted that while the movie Good Fortune has a strong story and Ansari’s signature humor, its message is sometimes overly direct. Overall, she found it to be an enjoyable film.

Okay, so Good Fortune didn’t exactly set the box office on fire, but critics have been surprisingly kind. As of today, it’s sitting at a respectable 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 148 reviews. Interestingly, audiences seem to like it even more – the Popcornmeter, which reflects viewer scores, is at 81%. It’s a fun fantasy comedy, and while it might not be a blockbuster, it’s definitely worth a look if you’re in the mood for something lighthearted.

Keanu Reeves’ Good Fortune is streaming on STARZ for subscribers in the United States.
