Ke Huy Quan joins new horror in role “unlike anything” he’s done before
Ke Huy Quan is now part of an unprecedented horror film, a genre he’s never ventured into prior to this, according to its creators.
The actor who played the lead role in “Everything Everywhere All At Once” will feature in “Bad Boy,” teaming up with Lili Reinhart from “Riverdale.” Interestingly, this movie is distinct as it narrates events from a terrier dog’s point of view, as reported by Deadline.
The movie chronicles the story of Gary, a lovable dog who adores his latest caretaker Cameron (Quan), enjoying rewards and tummy scratches, living a delightful life.
The summary indicates that Gary is prohibited from entering the basement, and even if he could, he lacks the ability to open doors. However, a girl (Lili Reinhart) resides in the basement, and she’s unable to leave. Unbeknownst to Gary, he might be her only means of escape.
The film titled “The Girl In The Woods” is being directed by Jacob Chase, who previously worked on “Bad Boy”. This project was ranked as one of the top unproduced screenplays in Hollywood, according to the esteemed Hollywood Black List.
Dave Caplan and the team from Longlegs Productions, along with Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath from M3gan Productions, have confirmed their roles as producers for the upcoming project. Filming is set to begin this coming summer season.
As a passionate gamer, let me express this from my heart: “I adore dogs more than anything human. It’s frustrating to watch horror flicks where canines are the first casualties! They’re not just our pets; they’re our loyal companions. I firmly believe it’s high time for a horror movie that flips the script and makes the dog the hero.
The movie titled “Bad Boy” explores themes of loyalty, intuition, and the extraordinary connection between humans and canines. This unique production promises a gripping, authentic take on horror thrillers that will keep you on edge. I’m excited to work with Ke and Lili as they delve into roles unlike any they’ve tackled before.
Two years ago, Quan earned an Oscar for the film “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” and he had previously made a name for himself as a child actor during the ’80s. Apart from “Riverdale,” Reinhart is widely recognized for her role in the 2019 movie “Hustlers.
Bad Boy is yet to confirm a release date.
