Kaya Scodelario returns to Netflix for new thriller
As a fan who has followed Kaya Scodelario‘s career since her days on Skins, I am absolutely thrilled to see her taking on yet another exciting role! Her versatility as an actress never ceases to amaze me. In The Woman in Cabin 10, she’ll join forces with Keira Knightley and a star-studded cast for a gripping thriller that promises to keep us on the edge of our seats.
The Gentlemen star Kaya Scodelario is set to return to Netflix for a new thriller.
After the acclaimed success of Guy Ritchie’s drama series that debuted on the streaming platform earlier in the year, the actor is now set to appear in the cast of “The Woman in Cabin 10” (according to Deadline).
Based on Ruth Ware’s popular book with the same title, the movie will revolve around a reporter (played by Keira Knightley) experiencing a startling incident during a voyage on a lavish ocean liner. As for the role of Scodelario, more information about it is still to come.
In the synopsis for the movie, it’s stated that the story revolves around a journalist who observes a passenger being pushed off a posh yacht during the night. However, when she checks, she finds out that all passengers and crew are accounted for, as if the incident never occurred.
“Despite no one believing her, she continues to look for answers, putting her own life in danger.”
The movie is helmed by Simon Stone, director of “The Dig,” along with Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, who also penned the screenplay. Notably, this pair has previously written for “Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins.
The illustrious ensemble of actors in this production features Guy Pearce, Hannah Waddingham, David Ajala, Gitte Witt, Art Malik, Daniel Ings, David Morrissey, Christopher Rygh, Paul Kaye, Lisa Loven Kongsli, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.
Speaking of Sodeclario, the actor has commenced shooting in Ottawa for Alex Winter’s upcoming movie titled “Adulthood”. This film also features Billie Lourd from “Booksmart”, Josh Gad known for his role in “Frozen”, and Anthony Carrigan, a star from the series “Barry”. At this point, specific details about their roles haven’t been disclosed.
The film’s official tagline playfully hints that it revolves around siblings, Megan and Noah, struggling to make ends meet, much like many others in contemporary America.
Upon unearthing a corpse hidden within their childhood home’s basement, the siblings find themselves unwillingly drawn back to their former town. There, they become embroiled in a labyrinth of criminal activity and homicide.
Release date for “The Woman in Cabin 10” hasn’t been announced yet, but you can watch “The Gentlemen” now on Netflix.
