Kaya Scodelario looks worlds away from her Skins character as she attends the Adulthood premiere during Toronto Film Festival – just days after the E4 cast reunited 17 years after their final episode

Actress Kaya Scodelario, best known for her role in “Skins,” seemed almost unrecognizable from her teen drama character at the Adulthood premiere held during the Toronto Film Festival.

33-year-old actress gained popularity by playing Effy Stonem in a show that was broadcast from 2007 to 2013.

And on Thursday, the star looked all grown up as she walked the red carpet for her new movie.

For the occasion, Kaya turned heads in a plunging pink ombre suit with a silver button detail.

She added inches to her frame with a pair of platform heels and kept accessories to a minimum.

The star appeared in good spirits as they posed up a storm for the cameras.

Stars alongside Josh Gad, the pair play as brother and sister who stumble upon more than they ever expected during the process of clearing out their parent’s basement.

In the summary, it’s stated that when siblings Megan and Noah discover a deceased person from the past hidden in their parents’ basement, they find themselves drawn into a chaotic whirlwind of crimes, concealments, and homicides.

‘The deeper they dig, the harder it becomes to escape’.

Adulthood is scheduled to be released in select theatres on September 19.

Recently, the original cast of Skins got back together again, around ten years since their final episode. This reunion has left fans with a mix of emotions.

The play resonated strongly with a youthful audience, as they related to the authentic portrayal of British teenagers depicted by the characters.

This week, Kaya shared several photos and videos on Instagram featuring her alongside Nicholas Hoult, Daniel Kaluuya, and Joe Dempsie.

Rewritten caption: “She commented on the image, expressing that the manner in which she once prayed for her siblings during childhood – feeling grateful for having each of you around now – is truly meaningful.

Reacting on X, one fan said: ‘This has really put me in my feels’;

‘I love seeing the skins cast still interacting with each other to this day’;

‘Makes me feel so old!’; ‘So much talent in one pic’

Skins launched the careers of some of Britain’s most hyped actors of the noughties.

However, long before it showcased the shining acting skills of actors such as the current antagonist of Superman, Nicholas Hoult, “Skins” was a fresh and exhilarating series on E4 that featured young, wide-eyed, and inexperienced teenagers in its raw drama.

As a devoted alum, I take great pride in the fact that many of us have been honored with a multitude of prestigious awards such as Oscar nominations, BAFTA wins, and impressive film credentials that are synonymous with Hollywood success. However, some of us have chosen to explore different paths, including one beloved figure who has shifted gears to become a neuroscientist, while another has embarked on a new journey in teaching.

In a more relaxed and conversational style: Nicholas’s character Tony Stonem was as charismatic as he was deceitful – a charming lad surrounded by adoring fans. Though his actions were questionable on the show, the young actor, at only 17 years old, won over viewers with his good looks and daring manipulations.

As a young actor of 11, Nicholas had already made his mark with the film “About a Boy.” However, it was his role in “Skins” that marked his second significant performance prior to transitioning into adult roles.

Originally hailing from Wokingham, Berkshire, the star, currently aged 35, has effortlessly established himself as a charismatic leading man.

Over the past two decades, he has been featured in numerous hit movies such as the X-Men series, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Favourite, and The Menu. In his latest work, he takes on the role of Lex Luthor in the upcoming Superman movie.

In the growing-up series, Kaya portrayed Tony’s younger sister, Effy, who frequently enjoyed social gatherings more than her brother did. Frequently, she would be spotted sneaking away at night for merriment.

She swiftly gained widespread popularity, thereby kickstarting a prosperous acting career on screen for Kaya, who was only 14 years old and had no prior acting experience.

Emerging British acting sensation Daniel, who has even won an Oscar, captivated “Skins” audiences at the tender age of 18 with his captivating performance as the charming character known as ‘Posh Kenneth’.

Afterward, there was an influx of performances that further boosted the actor’s reputation. These roles included appearances in Black Mirror and Black Panther.

In the year 2017, he starred prominently in the horror movie “Get Out,” directed by Jordan Peele. This role brought him worldwide recognition.

After that, he appeared in the director’s 2022 film titled Nope. Subsequently, he provided the voice for the beloved character Hobart ‘Hobie’ Brown in the animated Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Realm series.

Following this, he took on a role in the director’s 2022 film called Nope. Later on, he contributed his voice to the popular character Hobart ‘Hobie’ Brown in the animated Spider-Man movies titled Across the Spider-Verse.

Prior to taking on the character of a party-loving Chris (approximately 20 years old), Joe Dempsie found himself contemplating leaving his acting career behind.

Since that time, Joe’s acting career has been thriving, with him landing leading roles such as Doctor Who, England ’89, and most recently, Game of Thrones and The Fades.

Back then, Skins was groundbreaking TV that captivated a whole cohort of millennials. Viewers found themselves drawn into the lives of the characters who engaged in wildly explicit sexual encounters, experimented with drugs, and frequently skipped school.

Viewers found the characters in this piece relatable because they seemed authentic and accurately portrayed adolescent life in Britain, even though it was intended as a satire.

The show, originally developed by Bryan Elsley and his son Jamie Brittain, served as a springboard for several of its actors, such as Nicholas Hoult and Kaya Scodelario. These talented individuals have since gained recognition with notable films like Nosferatu and Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen.

In other news, Dev Patel and Daniel Kaluuya, respectively portraying Anwar Kharral and Posh Kenneth, have both received Oscar nominations this year. Notably, Daniel was recognized with a Best Supporting Actor nod for his performance in Judas and the Black Messiah (2021).

In April 2008, the latest episode featuring the original cast aired as part of the finale of Season 2, titled ‘Final Goodbyes’. You can catch up with this series on Channel 4.
