Kay Burley’s Glamorous Retirement: A Day of Pampering with Four Beauticians!
This month, Sky News viewers were taken aback when anchor Kay Burley unexpectedly declared during her broadcast that she would be stepping down from her position at the end of the current news segment, marking the culmination of her 36-year career.
And it seems the TV presenter, 64, is already fully enjoying her retirement.
It seems like one of her retirement aspirations involves spending more hours with her four beauty professionals.
On Instagram, Kay posted a picture showing her relaxing during an all-at-once manicure-pedicure session performed by skilled cosmetologists at a salon located in the heart of Knightsbridge, Central London.
She captioned the post: ‘Always so fabulous.’
When the celebrity unexpectedly decided to step away from her career, Burley, known to make around £600,000 annually at Sky News, responded by expressing his desire to explore other interests: “Now seems like the perfect moment for me to pursue some of my other passions.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share my astonishment upon learning about Kay’s recent revelation. This extraordinary individual who brought us the tragic passing of Diana, Princess of Wales, the heart-wrenching events of September 11, and the devastating Boxing Day tsunami, has stunned us all with a stunning announcement earlier this month.
At the conclusion of the show, she unexpectedly revealed her announcement – reflecting upon an exceptional career in journalism, as she was among those who initiated Sky News all the way back in 1989.
As soon as she announced it on air, everyone on staff learned about her plans – because Sky executives thought it fitting for this pioneering female broadcaster to be the one to share the news first.
Towards the closing of today’s broadcast, let’s take a moment to ponder over the last 36 years at Sky News, as it celebrates its birthday today.
Working alongside some of the top, dedicated teams in the industry has truly been an esteemed and rewarding experience for me.
‘News by its very nature is often devastating and together we’ve covered so many life-changing events – from the tragic death of Diana, the shocking terror attack of 9/11; the Asian Tsunami; the Concorde air disaster.
Yet, we’ve had our share of delightful peaks as well, haven’t we? The excitement of London being chosen to host the 2012 Olympics; multiple royal nuptials; jubilees and not to mention, the anticipation of eagerly awaiting royal babies at the Lindo Wing,” she said, smiling with understanding.
She went on to say, “However, having clocked in well over a million minutes on live television news, making me the global leader in this regard, it’s now time for me to explore some of my other interests, such as my affection for traveling.

Following my participation in reporting on twelve distinct general elections, such as the recent win by Sir Keir Starmer, I have decided it is time for me to step down from my position at Sky News.
She joked: ‘Let politicians of every party just rejoice at that news.’
As we conclude this unexpected revelation, allow me to express my heartfelt gratitude for joining me each morning these past 35 years. Your unwavering support has been truly invaluable and I can’t help but be awestruck by your amazing spirit!
‘I will post more on my social media and hope to see you around. Please keep in touch.’
Upon wrapping up my speech, I received hearty applause from the Sky News crew, with some of them capturing my final words from the sidelines with their cameras.
Sarah-Jane Mee has emerged as the joint favourite to replace Kay and is rated at 2/1 to take over.
The host of The UK Tonight show on Sky News, aged 46 and currently presenting each weeknight at 8 pm, is rumored to be one of the top candidates for the role of taking over.
She shares odds of 2:1 with Wilfred Frost, the son of the late Sir David Frost, aged 39. Currently presenting on the channel, he is also speculated to potentially host Breakfast in the future.
