As a long-time fan who has followed Katy Perry‘s journey since her breakout onto the music scene, I must say that her latest album 143 has left me somewhat underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Katy and the energy she brings to her performances, but as a connoisseur of pop music, I can’t help but feel that something’s missing from this new release.

Katy Perry showed off her back in a green bikini while standing on her balcony in Brazil, as she took some photos.

As a devoted admirer, I must admit that despite the harsh criticism faced by her latest album “143,” she still managed to turn heads when she posted a photo on Instagram, showcasing her striking figure, particularly her well-toned backside.

Katy – who sported a ball cap – was snapped by a pal while posing for a side view photo.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I recently found myself standing before the iconic Christ The Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, capturing a moment for my followers and cherishing the view. Additionally, I shared an intimate glimpse into my personal life by posting a screenshot of a Facetime call with my fiance, Orlando Bloom.

143 is Katy’s sixth studio album and her first in four years.

Over the past few years, Katy Perry’s recent albums, namely “Witness” from 2017 and “Smile” in 2020, didn’t fare well critically or commercially despite her previously impressive run on the Billboard charts.

143 was expected to mark her highly anticipated return to the music scene, as her popular tunes from the 2010s experienced a revival on TikTok.

However, the launch of the album, marked by the successive releases of Women’s World, Lifetimes, and I’m His, He’s Mine, faced a wave of controversy.

It came to light in July that Katy had collaborated with producer Dr. Luke on her latest music, which includes the empowering song for women titled Woman’s World.

This action drew criticism since Dr. Luke had been embroiled in a protracted legal dispute with singer Kesha, age 37, for over a decade. In 2014, she accused him of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, allegations he has strongly refuted.

For the first time addressing the recent uproar, Katy recently spoke about her previous decision on the podcast Call Her Daddy, earlier this month.

She acknowledged that her decision to work with Dr. Luke again sparked numerous discussions. Additionally, he was among the numerous artists with whom she had previously worked.

The Wide Awake singer insisted Luke is simply someone who helps her ‘facilitate’ her music.

I’d like to clarify: These songs originate from me. The truth behind them stems from my personal journey, a transformation spanning my entire life, and he played a crucial role in helping bring it to fruition – as one of the songwriters and producers.

‘I am speaking from my own experience. When I speak about Woman’s World, I speak about feeling so empowered now as a mother, as a woman, giving birth creating life, creating another set of organs, a brain, a heart.

She stated, “I constructed a complete heart, and I’ve carried out that task. I continue to do so, and I remain a matriarch. Speaking from this position of strength, I feel deeply rooted.

143’s reviews haven’t been particularly favorable towards Katy, as Variety criticized the album by saying it diminishes the last traces of the bubbly character that propelled Perry to superstardom in the early 2010s.

The critic characterized the album as “uninteresting” and noted that Katy Perry seemed “apathetic and detached,” suggesting she was recording during breaks from “American Idol.

As a devoted fan, I must admit that when The Guardian reviewed 143 with a modest 2 out of 5 stars, labeling it as a typical run-of-the-mill pop album, it caught my attention. However, despite this critique, I’m still eager to give the album a listen and make up my own mind about its quality.

According to AP, the album was deemed as lacking inspiration and easily forgotten. Similarly, The Independent awarded it just two stars, describing it as painfully outdated and noticeably disconnected from current trends.

A 5 out of 10 review from music publication Clash said that ‘the world has moved on.’
