Katy Perry IS being investigated by Victoria Police over Ruby Rose’s sexual assault allegations

Police in Victoria, Australia, have started an investigation following sexual assault accusations made by Ruby Rose against Katy Perry.

The 40-year-old Australian actress alleges that Perry, 41, sexually assaulted her in 2010 while they were together at the Spice Market nightclub in downtown Melbourne.

Okay, so Katy’s team just said all these claims are totally false, which, duh, I knew! But apparently, this Rose person actually went to the police and filed a complaint? Seriously? I’m so stressed about this whole thing, but I trust Katy completely. It’s just awful that someone would even try to drag her name through the mud, and now the police are involved! Ugh.

Detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) are looking into a sexual assault that happened in Melbourne in 2010, according to a Victoria Police spokesperson who spoke to Daily Mail on Wednesday.

‘Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD.

‘As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage.’

Rose has shared on Threads that she’s unable to discuss the situation further because the police are looking into what she reported.

She reported on Tuesday that she had finished all her reports earlier that day.

From now on, I can’t discuss those cases or the people connected to them in any public way, including commenting or sharing information.

It might seem like I’m tuning everything out – like I’m not acknowledging your kind words or the stories others share, but that’s not the case. I’m listening, even if it doesn’t appear that way.

Receiving this request from the police is actually a relief, as it means I can finally begin to heal and start moving forward. I appreciate all of your support so much.

Daily Mail has reached out to Perry’s representatives for comment.

Perry responded to accusations made by Rose this week, calling them ‘dangerous and reckless lies,’ and firmly denied claims of sexual assault.

Rose shared on social media that the incident involving the singer happened at a Melbourne nightclub when she was in her twenties.

She added that it had taken her ‘almost two decades’ to speak about it publicly.

However, a representative for Perry denied Rose’s comments in a statement to Daily Mail this week.

Representatives have stated that the claims Ruby Rose is making about Katy Perry online are completely untrue and are harmful and irresponsible.

Ms. Rose frequently makes serious accusations against people on social media, but those she accuses consistently deny her claims.

I was shocked to see Rose’s post on Threads detailing a very serious accusation. She claims Katy Perry sexually assaulted her at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne, and frankly, she doesn’t seem to care what anyone thinks about it.

‘I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost two decades to say this publicly.

I’m incredibly thankful to have lived long enough to discover who I am, but it’s a stark reminder of the lasting effects of trauma and sexual assault. Thank you for acknowledging me and my experience.

I’ve been following this for a while now, and it’s not the first time the actress has publicly shared her opinions on Perry. I remember back in 2017, she famously called Perry’s song ‘Swish Swish’ something along the lines of ‘purposeful poop’ – it was quite a moment!

Just days after making the comments, Rose clarified her position on X, stating that she doesn’t like being unkind and it makes her feel bad.

It’s frustrating to see hurtful behavior go unchecked. Seeing bullies get away with things really bothers me and makes me want to speak up, but I feel like it’s not my responsibility to do so.
