Katy Perry gets launched into space but lands safely (thankfully)

Approximately 11 minutes after 8:30 a.m. Central Time, the spacecraft blasted off from its base in west Texas and ventured into space. The journey was brief yet extraordinary. There was an audio-only live broadcast of the event, during which the crew could be heard voicing their excitement at various points, although it is possible that some of these exclamations were more due to exhilaration than fear.

Perry additionally sang tunes while on the journey, yet decided to decline the opportunity to showcase one of her original pieces. Instead, she opted for a more suitable choice, serenading “What a Beautiful World.
