Katy Perry FINALLY reveals why she and fiancé Orlando Bloom split for a year - and how it saved her life

As a storyteller myself, I find their tale of love and perseverance truly captivating. It’s not every day we come across two individuals who have climbed the peaks of success while maintaining a connection that transcends the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

In February 2017, after a year-long separation, Katy Perry publicly shared the reasons behind her breakup with her former fiancé, Orlando Bloom.

On the latest edition of the Call Her Daddy podcast, broadcasted on Wednesday, the 39-year-old pop sensation disclosed the reason behind her breakup with the 47-year-old Lord of the Rings actor, who she had dated for a span of 10 months.

“From the start, it wasn’t like we were fully committed,” she said to Alex Cooper, reflecting back. “On the other hand, he was involved right away due to his recent period of abstinence and his established goals.”

Contrary to Bloom, who had been celibate for six months before encountering Perry at a Golden Globes afterparty, this woman, being a mother of one, stated that she was recently out of a relationship and not mentally prepared for a serious commitment.

She said, “I felt as if I couldn’t continue with this any longer. A change of environment, like switching pools, seemed necessary. However, there was much that needed to be done in reality.”

After attending a week-long retreat known as the Hoffman Experience, Bloom recalls a change in their relationship which led to them parting ways peacefully.

She stated, “He had gone there, and he no longer seemed engaged in the cat-and-mouse game. And I responded, ‘This is monotonous. I’m ready for a change.’ I was tired of the constant tug-of-war. Because once you’ve experienced it, I found myself playing mind games.”

Following a particularly challenging year spent apart, she opted to attend a self-improvement getaway designed to assist individuals in recognizing habits, emotions, and thought patterns that unknowingly emerged and were shaped during their childhood.

Based on the information provided on their site, the price is set at $5,350 and covers accommodation, all meals and snacks, over 90 hours of expert tutelage, personalized guidance, one-on-one attention, and a follow-up conversation with your instructor post-course.

At the close of that year when we were apart, I eventually visited Hoffman and acquired the necessary tools, as the Roar singer disclosed. We found a common tongue during our conversation.

Apart from acknowledging the retreat as a catalyst for renewing her relationship with Bloom, she stated that it was essential for her survival, even going so far as to say it saved her life.

She shared that the process and meditation are crucial for her existence, as the chaos in her life became overwhelming. When Witness emerged and change started happening, she realized she truly valued herself. Initially, she believed she had a strong inner self, but she discovered that this foundation was built on external validation. It assisted her in reshaping her perception of herself and connecting her thoughts with her emotions.

Regarding what she loves most about her fiancé, who proposed on Valentine’s Day in 2019, she expressed: ‘He consistently appears for me.’

She admitted, ‘I revealed my most troublesome side to him.’ She added, ‘I said something like, “Here’s another challenge. I’m about to show you the wildest woman you’ve ever encountered,” and he responded, “I’m unfazed.” And she replied, “You’re my child’s father. If you aren’t surprised by this, then we’re destined for a long-term relationship.”‘

To strengthen their bond further, the loving parents, who are blessed with a 3-year-old daughter named Daisy, decide to seek guidance from couples counseling.

She stated, “Our goal is growth, and I believe that’s what keeps us together – to foster our personal development as we nurture this wonderful child of ours. It’s been a journey with various stages. As we put in the effort, we discover new dimensions of growth.”

She added: ‘Sometimes we get stuck, and we’re like, “OK, let’s go in to do the work and this is going to be annoying, and I don’t want to do it. We don’t have the time. I’m tired.” But we’re gonna do it. And we find the next level. That’s why we’re continuing in the relationship.’

Previously this year, the Pirates of the Caribbean shared a story on Trevor Noah’s podcast, What Now?, about his initial feelings for Katy that can be described as falling in love with her.

In Orlando’s recollection on the podcast, he mentioned that one aspect he deeply appreciated about Katy was the omnipresence of her music, though she dislikes this statement, so I must rephrase it tactfully: One thing that captivated me about Katy was how her music seemed to be all around.

He confessed that when he arrived, the song was playing everywhere on the radios, yet at that moment, it wasn’t something he was intentionally tuning into.

However, it was Katheryn, a girl from humble beginnings in Santa Barbara – including her family residing modestly, supported by food stamps and guided by pastors – who I fell deeply in love with. It’s important to note that this is not the glamorous Montecito lifestyle we often think of.

Katy openly discusses her upbringing in a financially struggling household, relying on food assistance programs at times, and occasionally performing music on the streets as a young girl.

While growing up, Orlando attended a boarding school in England. Not long after completing his studies at drama school, he landed the role that made him famous in The Lord of the Rings.

He realized that he and Katy share a mutual comprehension of our past experiences, the efforts we’ve made, and the hurdles we overcame to reach our current positions.

Orlando shared that the singer of Firework challenges him to grow, and he feels the same way about her. This dynamic results in excitement (and I apologize for the play on words), but it also leads to a great deal of amusement and development.

He stated: ‘And let me tell you, I wouldn’t trade it for anything, not even when it seems perplexing at times, such as moments of doubt like: “How on earth do we manage this?” Given our two substantial careers and lives, hers being exceptionally so, at times it feels like navigating separate universes.’

Previously, he mentioned they often encounter challenges because they operate in distinct sectors within the entertainment world, given their unique lines of work.

He shared with Flaunt that her swimming pool may not be something he fully grasps, and in the same vein, his pool might also be a mystery to her.

Occasionally, life can be incredibly tough, let’s be honest. We struggle with our feelings and creativity, but we also recognize how fortunate we are to have found such a unique connection at the exact moment we did, and there’s never a lack of excitement. This is what Orlando expressed.
