Katy Perry and Lauren Sanchez Spice Up Space with Bold New Suits for Historic Mission!
On Sunday, Katy Perry was all set and raring to go, striking poses with Lauren Sanchez, both donning fitted space attire, in anticipation of their Blue Origin space voyage scheduled for the following day, Monday.
The star is scheduled for an unprecedented 11-minute journey, joining Jeff Bezos’ financee, media personality Gayle King, and three other female astronauts. This marks the first all-women space voyage since 1963.
The launch is scheduled for April 14th in west Texas as part of Blue Origin’s New Shepherd program, where Lauren has personally designed the new space suits that will be used.
Katy posted pictures from the launch event on her Instagram, and she captioned them: “Celebrating International Day of Human Space Flight! Always amazed by the cosmos and its mysteries.
She exuded confidence while wearing a jumpsuit in shades of blue, adorned with the name ‘Perry’ and the words ‘Blue Origin’ along the sleeve. It was then disclosed that the team would don undergarments from Kim Kardashian’s brand SKIMS for their mission.
This week, Lauren shared with The New York Times her plans for creating the blue suits: “Let’s think about redesigning the flight suit. Typically, it’s designed with men in mind first, and then adjusted to fit women.

She added: ‘I think the suits are elegant but they also bring a little spice to space.’
Previously, Katy disclosed that she has been mentally gearing up for her Blue Origin space mission which will be exclusively staffed by women.
The 4-decade-old music artist finds motivation in believing she’ll inspire others, delving into astronomy research, and tapping into her ‘divine femininity’, as she prepares for her upcoming space travel adventure.
On a Wednesday, just before departing for Texas training, Perry held a conversation with the Associated Press at her practice studio in Ontario, California.
She stated: “I converse with myself daily, encouraging myself by saying, ‘You’re courageous, you’re daring, you’re embarking on this journey for the upcoming generations, inspiring countless individuals – and particularly young girls – to think, ‘I can explore space in the future.’ No bounds.’
Additionally, the artist known for her powerful roars mentioned that she’s mentally gearing up for her space voyage by delving into works penned by the late Carl Sagan and other brilliant minds in science.
Katy shared that she’s thrilled about the intricacies of the project, eager to delve deeper into STEM subjects, and fascinated by the mathematics involved in achieving such feats.
Whenever she’s about to embark on something fresh or intimidating, she finds the courage deep within her.
Drawing on the innate femininity within me, which undeniably intensified upon becoming a mother, has undoubtedly elevated my strength to new heights. Motherhood truly imbues one with an extraordinary kind of power.
Katy shares four-year-old daughter Daisy with actor fiance Orlando Bloom.

Originally, she became well-known for singing about developing feelings for an alien in her 2010 chart-topper “E.T.” Now, she is delving into the research of one of the most recognized astrophysicists who studied them – Carl Sagan.
About her mission preparations, she shared with AP: “While preparing, I found myself engrossed in Carl Sagan’s Cosmos and a book about string theory. My fascination with astrophysics, astronomy, and even astrology, as well as the stars, has always been strong.
‘We are all made of stardust and we all come from the stars.’
Katy Perry’s song “E.T.” could be interpreted as her expressing love for an alien, but Carl Sagan was a groundbreaking figure in the discipline known as exobiology – the exploration and investigation into the potential existence of life beyond Earth.
The late Carl Sagan, who departed in 1996, was an esteemed American astronomer, planetary scientist, and science advocate, but he is particularly recognized for his pioneering work in science communication and his significant role in making science accessible to the public through his influential television series, Cosmos: A Personal Voyage, and a variety of informative books.
In February, Bezos’ rocket company, Blue Origin, revealed the crew members, and among them is Bezos’ fiancée Sánchez, a helicopter pilot and ex-TV journalist, who selected the women who will accompany her for an 11-minute space voyage on a rocket.
Alongside ex-NASA rocket expert Aisha Bowe, civil rights champion Amanda Nguyen, and movie producer Kerianne Flynn, the stars will also be present.
Speaking about the crew, the pop star expressed: “I feel incredibly grateful, humbled, and honored to be a part of this phenomenal collection of women I’ve been invited to join.
Critics of the project include Hollywood actress Olivia Munn, who publicly criticized it during a recent interview on “Today With Jenna and Friends.
In the beginning, both Munn and Jenna engaged in a chat, noting their latest Elle magazine cover. Meanwhile, Olivia was about to express her opinion but paused instead.
After that, she asked, “What’s their purpose? I guess you can figure it out?” This question drew some laughter from the live spectators.
While it might not be fashionable to admit, there are numerous issues of great importance that demand our attention in today’s world.
Munn then added, ‘What are you going to do up in space? What are you doing up there?’
Hager interjected to clarify that the six women would only spend eleven minutes aboard the aircraft in total, reminding Olivia of a quick ride at Disneyland.

As the actress kept wrestling with finding the right words for her thoughts, Jenna observed that Munn seemed puzzled or bewildered.
The mother of two casually stated, “Why must you inform us? Just go up there, enjoy yourselves, and then return.
Can’t help but ponder this, as an ardent admirer: The cost of venturing into space, it seems staggering! I mean, it might sound overzealous to say, but there are countless individuals who struggle to afford basic necessities like eggs. It’s a stark contrast that often leaves me in awe.
As Jenna shared with me that our all-female team was set to embark on a space voyage in style, I found myself momentarily bewildered by her announcement.
In my expertise, I often find myself accompanying individuals who undergo a transformation that goes beyond the ordinary – from meticulously styled tresses, expertly applied makeup, to the luxurious addition of eyelash extensions. This leaves me, much like Munn, momentarily speechless and pondering, “Did they really say that out loud?
When speaking with Jenna, Munn inquired, “But why do you guys feel the need to go on this ride? I find it quite excessive, and I’m not entirely sure about it. Don’t you think Elle Magazine’s cover might be a better option?
Later on, Olivia expressed, ‘The purpose of space exploration is to expand our understanding and ultimately benefit humanity. In other words, what good does it do them up there if it doesn’t improve things for us here on Earth?’
1. Jenna responded, “I’m not sure,” and Munn added, “It’s uncertain if we’re using the best quality rocket fuel here. This seems like a significant amount of resources being expended.”
2. Jenna said, “I can’t say for certain,” and Munn pointed out, “It’s questionable whether the rocket fuel we’re using is top-notch. It appears to be quite an investment of resources.”
3. Jenna admitted, “I don’t have the answer,” and Munn expressed concern, “We might not be utilizing the finest quality rocket fuel given the amount of resources this seems to require.”
4. Jenna confessed, “I’m clueless about it,” and Munn worried, “It appears that a considerable amount of resources are being wasted if we’re not using the best rocket fuel available.”
5. Jenna expressed uncertainty, “I don’t know the specifics,” and Munn voiced doubt, “The quality of our rocket fuel might be subpar given the resources being spent on it.”
The actress gave a silent nod while Hager jokingly commented, “Definitely plenty of eyelash adhesive to secure that look in place. Can’t help but think about it.
blueorigin-flight-ns-31 marks the first mission with a completely female team since the historic solo space journey of russian astronaut, valentina tereshkova, back in 1963.
The self-flying rocket, which these six women will employ, is designed to spend approximately four minutes drifting in space before making its way back to Earth.
