Katie Price’s Heartbreaking Drop-Off: Son Harvey’s College Return Drama Unfolds

Katie Price detailed her difficult 200-mile trip this week, accompanying her heartbroken son Harvey on the way back to his boarding school.

46-year-old, once a famous model, was facing the possibility of pulling her son out from his £350,000-a-year school in Cheltenham due to bankruptcy proceedings. However, she revealed that her son wished to remain with her. She expressed optimism about moving closer to their new family home in Sussex once they leave the Mucky Mansion, implying a change of residence.

Harvey is visually impaired, on the autism spectrum, diagnosed with septo-optic dysplasia, has a cognitive learning difficulty, and is among approximately 2,000 individuals in the United Kingdom who live with Prader-Willi Syndrome, a genetically rooted condition.

According to The Mirror, Katie shared on Snapchat about her challenging and distressing trip during which a visibly angry Harvey expressed his frustration in the vehicle.

She conveyed to her audience: ‘That was quite challenging, it left me feeling quite disheartened. Harvey seemed reluctant to return to school.’

I can’t believe my car hasn’t been taken yet, given how close he came to it. It’s heartbreaking when your child refuses to attend college and insists on spending all their time with you instead. (Informal)

I’m eagerly anticipating his return home close by us, but unfortunately, his space isn’t prepared just yet, possibly in May. Yes, it’s quite distressing.

Since 2021, Harvey has been residing and studying at the specialized institution, National Star. However, due to budget cuts and Katie’s financial struggles, he nearly got disenrolled from the school last year.

In an episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, last year, Katie expressed that she was going through a tough time, saying: “Things are really difficult for me right now.

We attempted to keep him enrolled at his college for another year, or found him a job placement instead, but the authorities have yet to approve our proposal.

As a lifestyle consultant, I find myself in a situation where I have been granted a three-month timeline to locate a new place before July. When dealing with a person such as Harvey, a gradual transition is crucial. A swift move might not be the best approach for him.

Fortunately, Harvey managed to remain at the school, and in December, Katie posted a photo of her son, beaming with pride, as he displayed a letter from Santa that showcased his academic successes in college.

Hello Santa Claus, I’m Harvey Price and I turn 22 this year on the 27th of May.

At the National Star College, I’ve been consistently delivering top-notch performance. This past week, I managed to complete an impressive 10 laps during my swimming routine.

‘I have been really trying to use my words, Santa. I hope this makes you so proud.

Since you’ve been exceptionally well-behaved this year at National Star College, dear Harvey Price, perhaps there could be some additional gifts for you this holiday season. Wishing you a joyous celebration. With love, Santa. From Harvey Price.

The blog post, which featured lesson plans from Twinkl Resources, was labeled as: “Letter to Santa (Santa icon)

In June, a mother of five disclosed her concerns about possibly having her son, who is the child of ex-footballer Dwight York, placed in foster care.

Katie looked after Harvey as his main caretaker until he reached the age of 19. Starting from 2021, he has been residing independently at the specialized educational institution called the National Star College.

In order for Harvey to reside at the college, it requires a great deal of administrative work and approval from the local authorities for them to cover the costs.

As a dedicated follower, I am submitting an application on behalf of the college to Katie’s local authority, outlining all the resources we intend to allocate for Harvey. This annual funding could potentially range from £300,000 to £350,000, designed to cover comprehensive all-year round residential care.

The local council makes the determination about whether to finance it or select a location that’s closer by. It’s Katie’s responsibility to keep her son’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) current, as it’s a legally binding document outlining his necessary support.
