Katie Price’s fourth ‘wedding ceremony’ in Dubai to businessman Lee Andrews was all for show and is NOT legally binding as her worried family ‘plan intervention’

Katie Price’s recent wedding ceremony with her partner was staged for appearances and isn’t legally binding, according to the Daily Mail.

The person who led the non-legal ceremony explained to the Mail that it wasn’t a real marriage – you need to go through the courts to make it official. He described himself as a performer, emphasizing the ceremonial nature of the event.

Darryl Rees, a DJ and MC from Swansea, has been performing commitment ceremonies in Dubai for five years. He notes that most British couples who choose these ceremonies handle the official legal paperwork either at a Dubai court or a UK registry office, typically before or after the event.

It’s not clear whether or not Katie, 47, and her new ‘husband’ Lee Andrews chose to do so.

Everyone was surprised when the former model announced her engagement on Friday, especially since she had just split from reality TV star JJ Slater, 32, a few days before.

She quickly married Lee, a 43-year-old living in Dubai, a decision that deeply upset her family. They are reportedly now trying to talk to her about it.

The Daily Mail reported on Monday that Lee’s LinkedIn profile contained several false statements. These included untrue claims about being a millionaire and providing advice to both the Labour Party and the King’s Trust.

Pictures from the wedding ceremony reveal Katie looking lovingly at Lee while wearing a revealing dress and displaying a large diamond engagement ring. However, the ring seems to be the same one Lee previously gave to his former wife only four months earlier.

The event was held at the luxurious One and Only Royal Mirage hotel in Dubai, a five-star resort on the Palm Jumeirah island, where rooms cost around £600 per night, according to sources.

The couple shared their vows – read by Darryl on an iPad – while standing hand-in-hand amidst the beautiful gardens overlooking the Persian Gulf, showered in rose petals.

The newlyweds continued posing for photos, this time with champagne glasses. She then struck a few poses on her own, showcasing her dress with a high slit, paired with high heels, and revealing her tattoos.

Some people were skeptical about how quickly the wedding happened, suggesting it was just for attention. However, the officiant, Darryl, insisted the couple was genuinely and deeply in love.

Darryl, age 35, shared that Lee Andrews reached out to him on Saturday, just one day after he and his partner announced their engagement on Instagram.

The ceremony was set for Sunday.

Darryl shared with the Mail that the couple got engaged on Friday, and just two days later, he was the one performing their wedding ceremony.

They seemed like a really sweet couple, clearly very much in love. When I first spoke with Lee, he was completely smitten with Katie and thrilled about marrying her.

Katie and he clearly had a connection. Throughout the reading, they kept making eye contact and seemed completely lost in each other, just like people who are falling in love.

They said they planned to officially register the marriage the next day, on Monday.

He explained the legal side of things: ‘Apparently, the official process is quite simple. However, what I do is more of a ceremonial wedding – I’m there for the performance aspect. They then handle all the legal paperwork and get officially married at the courthouse.’

Lee contacted me on Saturday and told me he and his fiancée, Katie Price, were planning a wedding. I was pretty surprised to hear the name, so I wasn’t shocked when I confirmed it was actually her the next day.

They were both kind and down-to-earth, simply enjoying each other’s company with lots of laughter. They seemed like any other couple excited to get married.

As a big fan, I was so impressed with Katie! Despite being famous, she was incredibly genuine and easy to chat with – completely without any of the usual celebrity ego. She was just genuinely kind and lovely.

I customized the ceremony to reflect the couple’s personalities. We spoke beforehand about how they envisioned the reading, and they shared some meaningful details – they both have ’11:11′ tattoos with each other’s names, symbolizing good luck and that they’re on the right path. I incorporated this into the ceremony to make it special for them.

Rhiannon Downie-Hurst, the founder of Bride Club ME and a well-known wedding planner in Dubai, described the meaning behind the special ‘symbolic ceremony’ that Katie and her husband had.

In Dubai and throughout the UAE, a legally recognized marriage is different from a wedding ceremony or celebration that is simply symbolic.

It’s very common for couples to get legally married in their home country – through their embassy, a court, or a religious organization – and then have a celebration, or symbolic wedding ceremony, in Dubai afterwards.

Recently, several emirates have changed the law to allow both tourists and residents to get legally married in civil courts.

Although the process is simpler and faster now than it used to be, it still involves official paperwork, verifying your identity, providing supporting documents, and getting legal approval. Because of this, it’s rarely something you can do on a whim.

British citizens getting married often need to have official documents – especially those proving their marital status and any divorce decrees – certified beforehand. Although some companies advertise ‘same-day’ weddings, this usually means all the necessary paperwork has already been completed, verified, and officially approved.

I won’t comment on the legal details of Katie Price’s wedding. However, as someone familiar with the industry, it seemed like what was shown publicly was a symbolic ceremony – those are very popular in Dubai.

Sources say Katie’s family is worried about how quickly her relationship is moving and plan to have a serious conversation with her about getting married.

A source told The Sun: ‘Everyone is worried she’s spinning out of control.

‘They haven’t even met this man and if she’s only known him a week, he could be anyone.

‘Nobody is planning to hold back.’

It comes as Katie has changed her name just days after tying the knot with Lee.

On top of everything else happening in their relationship, Lee has revealed on Instagram that Katie has legally changed her last name to Katie P. Andrews.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Not only did Katie reveal all sorts of amazing things, but she also said Lee – remember, the one who told everyone he was a millionaire? – just dropped a whopping £180,000 on a brand new Ferrari! I knew he had good taste, but seriously, a Ferrari?! I’m officially losing it!

Katie’s representative declined to comment when contacted by Daily Mail.
