Katie Price vows to quit vaping after discovering ‘links to rare and irreversible lung disease’ – as her mother Amy continues to battle terminal cancer

Katie Price has vowed to quit her beloved vapes.

The 48-year-old model shared on her podcast that a recent health issue is forcing her to stop doing what she does.

She posted an X-ray showing damaged lungs and explained that vaping has now been connected to a rare and permanent lung illness.

While showing the x-ray image, she explained she’d been frightened by what it revealed, saying vaping is extremely harmful to people.

It really struck me when Katie shared that her mum, Amy, is battling a serious illness called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis – it’s terminal, and she actually had a lung transplant in 2022. Knowing that has made Katie even more committed to taking care of her own health, and honestly, it’s incredibly inspiring to see.

She shared that she’d talked to her mother, Amy, and her stepfather, Paul, about her vaping habit. She told them she was making a New Year’s resolution to quit, and thankfully, a recent lung check showed no damage.

I was absolutely devastated to hear Katie finally opened up about her struggles earlier this week. It’s so heartbreaking, but also brave of her to admit she’s battling an addiction. Honestly, I’ve been worried about her for a while now, and this just confirms my fears. I’m sending her all my love and hoping she gets the help she deserves.

Because the mother of five has a family history of lung disease, her loved ones are growing increasingly concerned about her continued smoking.

Katie’s mother, Amy, is 73 years old and has been living with a serious lung disease called IPF for several years. In 2022, she received a lung transplant that saved her life.

Even though she was seen vaping on a train last year and while performing live with Kerry Katona, Katie has apparently found it difficult to stop vaping.

According to a source speaking to The Mirror, Katie needs to prioritize her health and take a break, as her family is very concerned about her well-being.

She’s really under a lot of pressure, and vaping has become her way to cope. It’s also highly addictive, and Katie is particularly prone to developing habits.

Her boyfriend, JJ Slater, who was on the show Married At First Sight, has also reportedly expressed concern, but feels unable to help the situation. They’ve been dating for nearly two years.

According to a source close to the situation, while JJ is concerned, he recognizes that Katie is independent and makes her own decisions.

DailyMail has contacted Katie’s representative for comment.

This isn’t the first time her vaping has created family conflict. Back in October 2023, her sister Sophie, who co-hosts the podcast ‘The Katie Price Show,’ publicly pleaded with her to quit vaping on camera.

In November 2024, Katie caused a public uproar after a video surfaced of her vaping on a train, where e-cigarettes are not allowed.

Katie has tried to stop vaping in the past, and she once said it might have been responsible for losing a tooth.
