Katie Price is criticised by fans for using a sun bed amid new cancer fears after she was taken to hospital over her worrying weight-loss

Fans have expressed concern after Katie Price posted a selfie showing her using a sun bed, especially given recent discussions about cancer risks.

The 47-year-old former model was hospitalized recently due to concerning weight loss. She’s also worried her cancer, leiomyosarcoma, might come back after discovering a new lump on her finger.

When she was 24, in 2002, she shared that she’d been diagnosed with a rare cancer during her pregnancy with her son, Harvey.

Leiomyosarcoma, or LMS, is a rare cancer that affects the smooth muscle cells throughout the body. If it’s found in a late stage, the chance of surviving is only about 50%.

Katie seemed to forget about her worries as she continued sunbathing and tried red light therapy.

She explained that she was going to try a red light therapy bed, pointing to it nearby, and also mentioned she’d be using a sunbed as well.

Katie said she’d never tried it before, but heard it was good for your bones and skin. She wanted to take a closer look.

As a dedicated follower, I was really surprised and honestly a bit upset to see this. People were commenting, and many of us were saying something like, ‘You just talked about a cancer scare, and now you’re posting pictures from a sunbed?!’ It just didn’t seem to add up, and a lot of us were concerned.

Spending too much time in the sun can cause cancer. As a bit of fatherly advice, please don’t overdo it and take care of yourself.

I thought you mentioned cancer being a possibility… so why are you using a tanning bed? It doesn’t make sense to worry about cancer and then intentionally increase your risk like that.

Someone mentioned a possible skin cancer spot and joked about it. Then, they warned Katie that using tanning beds isn’t a good idea if she’s concerned about cancer.

Katie has recently shared that she’s getting tested again due to concerns about cancer, over two decades after successfully battling the disease.

On the latest episode of The Katie Price Show, Katie revealed she’s experiencing new symptoms in the same finger where she was previously diagnosed with cancer, which is causing her concern.

She mentioned something strange that happened years ago when she was pregnant with her son, Harvey. She was diagnosed with a rare cancer called leiomyosarcoma.

Katie pointed to a small hole and scar on her finger, explaining she’d had the skin removed in two separate procedures. She noted a slight dent in the area, adding that it hadn’t been painful.

‘But a lump started coming up and I thought I had been riding and done something to my finger.

To make a long story short, I was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma and needed MRI scans for six years until the doctors confirmed I was cancer-free.

She explained that about three weeks prior, she’d started experiencing pain in her finger. She’d wondered if she’d bumped it, as it hurt when pressed, but there was no visible swelling.

Honestly, this pain just won’t quit, so I’m scheduling an X-ray to get it checked out. I’m really hoping it’s not a repeat of what happened before – dealing with that again would be a real setback to my active lifestyle!

I really hope this isn’t bad news, especially with everything else going on. Things usually balance out for me – a good thing happens, then a bad one. I’m hoping this time it’s not something negative.

When Katie first received her cancer diagnosis, she consulted with a different healthcare provider because her usual doctor was away. This provider downplayed the seriousness of her condition.

However, she noticed the lump kept increasing in size, prompting her to seek another opinion.

She explained that she had been watching the lump for months, and it was steadily growing larger.

I became increasingly concerned, so I visited the doctor’s office twice more, but I couldn’t get an appointment with my usual doctor. Both times, I was assured it wasn’t serious and told to monitor the situation.

I went back to the doctor’s office a fourth time when the lump kept getting bigger, and fortunately, I finally got to see my regular doctor. He examined it and was immediately worried.

She was sent to a specialist doctor in Hove, East Sussex, but couldn’t have any tests done until after she delivered her baby.

Katie recently updated her fans on Snapchat about her health, and admitted she’s puzzled by her recent weight loss. She’s previously stated she hasn’t used any weight loss medications.

Katie mentioned she was at the hospital to have stitches taken out from a cooking accident – she’d cut herself with a knife while making curry.

Katie shared on Snapchat that she’s undergoing tests and isn’t sure why she’s losing weight.

She started by explaining she’d been to the doctor early that morning for some blood tests. Because her veins are difficult to access, the nurses had to try three times to get a sample.

‘They could only fill two tubes up, so I’ve got to go back in two weeks.’

Katie also mentioned she’ll need to have her stitches removed soon, as doctors examined the small cut she sustained.

I’m seeing a doctor because I’ve been losing weight unexpectedly, and I’m trying to figure out the cause.

Just days after Katie shared she’d needed emergency room treatment for self-inflicted cuts, concerns from her fans grew.

She described the severe injury, explaining that the knife had cut through the ligaments and nerves in her hand, causing half of it to lose feeling.

Katie shared several graphic photos showing the deep cut in her tattooed left wrist.

She shared photos of her wound after it was stitched up at the hospital, and also showed the long knife that caused it.

She explained to her followers that she accidentally cut herself with a knife last night, resulting in a deep wound that required stitches.

She shared a picture of a brightly lit hospital emergency room sign and jokingly tweeted that it wasn’t how she’d planned to spend her Friday night.

People have been worried about the former model’s weight loss for several months, and she spoke about it publicly back in May.

But back then, she had seemed pretty pleased about it, saying she had wanted to lose weight.

She confirmed to her fans on Snapchat that she has lost weight, and that it was a goal she’d been working towards.

Let me tell you, a few years back, I had a really tough time. I broke both my feet and ended up in a wheelchair for almost a year – doctors weren’t sure I’d walk again. And honestly, being in a wheelchair definitely causes you to gain weight; it’s something I experienced firsthand.

I also went through IVF treatment, which caused me to gain weight. I really didn’t like it – I felt uncomfortable and like it changed how I felt about myself.

In an interview on The Louis Theroux Podcast last year, Katie shared that she’s never felt comfortable with her body.

She admitted she’s never considered herself attractive, and while she previously dismissed the idea of having body dysmorphia, she now believes something is definitely going on, though she isn’t sure what it is. She’s never seen herself as pretty when looking in the mirror.
