Katie Price ‘Heartbroken’ as Son Harvey’s Weight Reaches Nearly 30st, Putting His Life at Risk

Katie Price openly shared that she feels deeply saddened as her son Harvey’s weight has escalated close to 30 stones, making it difficult for him to move around and posing a potential threat to his existence.

On Sunday, the ex-fashion model, aged 46, shared on Snapchat her concerns about the impact of a 22-year-old’s body size on his overall wellbeing and potential heart health risks.

Harvey has vision impairment due to being blind, he’s on the autism spectrum, experiences septo-optic dysplasia, and belongs to the approximately 2,000 individuals in the United Kingdom diagnosed with Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic condition.

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself deeply concerned about Harvey, whose Prader-Willi syndrome often triggers an insatiable hunger that leaves me worried for his wellbeing. Over the years, we’ve tried various weight management approaches, but so far, none have proven to be a long-term solution.

In a recent video, the mom of five shared some news about her oldest child’s health with fans, expressing her deep sadness and disappointment as his weight continues to increase.

‘I recently looked up the conversion from kilograms, and it turns out that 188kg is almost equivalent to 30 stone. I’m currently awaiting feedback from doctors regarding my use of Mounjaro as part of my path towards improved health.’

Mounjaro refers to the medication known as tirzepatide, often referred to as the “giant” or “King Kong” injections for weight loss, as it is reportedly more efficient at helping people lose weight compared to other drugs such as Ozempic.

She continued by expressing the challenging nature of observing Harvey’s prolonged struggle, yet pledged her determination to help him overcome it.

Katie mentioned that it’s truly unfortunate as his current size makes it difficult for him to perform many activities.

Because he’s at an increased risk of having a heart attack, there are some challenges we face like putting on his trainers or walking long distances. However, my love for him is unwavering, and I am determined to support him as he navigates through this difficult time.

It’s truly unfortunate to witness someone struggling with obesity, a situation that’s indeed disheartening. It seems he’s unaware of the hardships associated with it.

In February, it was disclosed that Harvey would begin receiving weight loss injections as part of an effort to enhance his life.

The popular television personality shared that her oldest child would start receiving an injection similar to Ozempic, following advice from their physicians.

In an interview with The Sun, she clarified that his medical team suggests Harvey might need to receive vaccinations for as long as two years.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to emphasize that the situation with Harvey is quite severe and potentially life-altering. His health condition puts him at an increased risk for a heart attack, and unfortunately, it seems his size isn’t decreasing.

He’s been gaining more weight. Regardless of our efforts, this seems to be the case. The doctors are taking steps in this direction to improve his quality of life and ensure his well-being over a longer period.

The mother of five mentioned, “It’s advantageous to initiate him on this medication because, if it works, you can discontinue it as it’s given weekly. We’ve already explored dietary options, he’s consulted with nutritionists, but his condition seems inherent.

They plan to keep him in this role for a minimum of one to two years, which seems quite extensive, but they’ll monitor his performance and adjust the complexity accordingly based on their evaluation.

In 2001, Katie had a short-lived relationship with the ex-footballer, Dwight York, and Harvey was born as a result of that relationship, although they separated shortly afterwards, when Katie was expecting their first child together.

The ex premier league star denied he was the father, until a DNA test proved his paternity.

Initially, Katie mentioned that Dwight might have interacted with Harvey only a handful of times throughout his entire life, implying approximately nine encounters.

She asserted: “I believe he wasn’t fond of the fact that I was with Pete [Andre], and afterward, she mentioned: ‘To be honest, I’m unsure if it was due to him not being able to have me or Harv; even to this day, I remain uncertain.’

I’ve attempted to share photos of Harvey playing the piano on Instagram with him, but he seems uninterested in everything I send. It appears he prefers not to engage. However, the invitation for a connection remains open – it’s always there.
