On Wednesday, Katie Price shared that her boyfriend, JJ Slater, managed to get a hair transplant in Turkey despite having Type 1 diabetes without disclosing the specific method he used.
Previously known for her modeling career, a woman of 47 years, utilized Snapchat to record the Married At First Sight actor, aged 32, during his PRP treatment session in the surgical chair.
Katie clarified that the duo unexpectedly arrived at the clinic without being aware that JJ was scheduled for a procedure, nor fully understanding what the specific procedure entailed.
As a committed partner, we initially set our sights on having “our” respective surgeries, but unfortunately, complications arising from my diabetes forced me to withdraw from the plan.
During the filming, the MAFS star was seated in the surgery chair and expressed, “JJ has come for his procedure as he couldn’t undergo a hair transplant or surgery…You dislike needle sticks? Observe him now.
To manage his diabetes, they draw his blood, mix it with medication, and then inject this solution directly into his scalp to stimulate hair growth.
In this version, I have tried to make the language more natural and easy to read while maintaining the original meaning of the sentence. I also added some clarification about the purpose of the procedure (to stimulate hair growth) since it was not explicitly mentioned in your original sentence.

We arrived unexpectedly, as we hadn’t realized he would finish it. He wants to complete those areas, specifically on his forehead.
‘Your about to have a million injections, are you ChatGPT it?’
He replied: ‘Yes I’m seeing what this actually is, I have no idea what to expect.’
Rather than undergoing a hair transplant, a Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy entails drawing a person’s blood, separating platelet-rich plasma from it, and subsequently injecting this separated plasma into the scalp to promote hair follicle activity and foster new hair growth.
Later, Katie stepped out and enjoyed the sun on a pier that offered a beautiful view of the ocean. She spent some time wandering around a shopping mall while waiting for JJ to complete his appointment at the clinic.
Later on, the television figure posted a selfie under the sun with a caption expressing, “While waiting for JJ’s operation, we were both incredibly anxious.
Even though Katie’s partner didn’t undergo their respective surgeries earlier in the week, Katie proudly showcased the outcomes of her recent cosmetic improvements on Monday.
In January, a mother of five traveled to Istanbul for minor adjustments on her sixth facial rejuvenation treatment, which she had undergone the previous year.

After only seven months, Katie once again found herself needing surgery, with her recent trip to Istanbul being for further modifications.
While attending the clinic, Katie underwent procedures for lip lift, brow lift, and eyelid surgery. During her recovery process, she was spotted leaving with blood on her and bandages covering various parts of her face.
JJ was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2023, Daily Mail revealed.
Before the festive season could roll in, I found myself dashing off to a hospital, my heart heavy with worry. It all started when I suddenly felt dizzy and noticed an alarming weight loss of around 1.5 stones over just three weeks. This rapid change had taken quite a toll on me physically, causing my body to weaken significantly.
One night, JJ received a call from his physician who informed him urgently to report to the hospital right away due to concerningly high blood sugar readings in a recent test. The doctor warned that this could lead to a potentially severe condition called diabetic ketoacidosis, which can be fatal if not treated promptly.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it as: “Hearing the news that my life would significantly change due to a recent diagnosis at age 31 left me feeling anxious and overwhelmed. Now, I find myself needing to administer insulin injections four times daily and carefully monitor my diet.
Since there’s no known cure for type 1 diabetes, JJ mentioned that adjusting to the new situation and learning how to effectively manage his condition would be challenging.
According to JJ, he shared with Daily Mail that the early symptoms he experienced included frequently waking up around 4-5 times during the night to use the restroom and always feeling unusually thirsty.
After that, I began shedding pounds rather swiftly. In just three weeks’ time, I managed to reduce by approximately 7.5 kilograms, all while maintaining my regular diet and gym routine.
Even though I hadn’t made any adjustments, it was clear that something wasn’t normal because my health was declining. I found myself feeling dizzy quite frequently, and one moment I was sitting on the sofa watching TV, and the next I was lying on the floor after standing up – this was a stark reminder that all was not well.
As a diligent patient, I underwent a blood test and my doctor mentioned that I might not receive any updates until after Christmas. However, upon waking up the next morning, I found myself with three missed calls from 111 and voicemails urging me to promptly visit the hospital. Needless to say, I’ve never sprung out of bed so swiftly. My heart raced as I feared this could be some dire news.
JJ clarified that type 1 diabetes occurs when the body can’t produce enough insulin, leading to elevated blood sugar levels.

Type 1 diabetes appears without a known cause, and unfortunately, there’s no surefire way to prevent its onset. However, if you are diagnosed with this condition, it can be managed effectively through regular insulin injections.
I was urgently advised to visit a doctor immediately, as my latest blood sugar reading of 34mmol/l was significantly higher than the recommended range of 4-7mmol/l for good health.
For JJ, the significant lifestyle shift involves overcoming his needle phobia to administer injections, and also focusing more on his diet, an aspect he hadn’t needed to monitor closely before.
He mentioned that Type 1 is an autoimmune disorder, while Type 2 is triggered by lifestyle factors and can be managed with proper diet. However, when it comes to Type 1, it is what it is.
For as long as I live, I’ll grapple with this new circumstance, and it’s quite a challenge to adapt. Up till now, I was 31 years old, but something significant has occurred in my life.
I used to not give much thought to my eating habits or self-injections, but now I find myself having to inject myself four times daily. This significant shift in routine is quite challenging for me.
The process of learning about a health condition after receiving a diagnosis can be a long and daunting journey. I must confess, I’m not fond of needles – despite having numerous tattoos, their presence still instills fear in me. Self-injection with any liquid makes me feel quite uncomfortable.
During her recuperation in Istanbul, Katie’s daughter, known as Princess, has stirred up quite a commotion in the UK after the premiere of her reality show titled “The Princess Diaries.
On the premiere of Sundays’ show, Princess admitted to disliking her looks and constantly focusing on her large nose, a trait she refuses to alter through plastic surgery like her mother did.
The 18-year-old, daughter of Katie and Peter Andre, shared her feelings following episodes of bullying related to her insecurities.
The teenager openly acknowledged feeling extremely aware of herself, a result of being bullied due to her appearance, and lacking the same level of self-assurance as her mother.
Although she commended Mother Katie for baring all on Page 3, she personally considered herself more modest and prone to embarrassment during modeling sessions.

She said: ‘People think because my mum was a page 3 model I have to be that confident too.
I applaud her achievement, but I find myself less confident and introverted. I tend to feel quite embarrassed in similar situations.
She added: ‘Previously, I disliked my lips and nose greatly. As a child, I often faced ridicule due to my overly large nose, oversized eyes, and virtually nonexistent lips.’
Initially, I struggled greatly with low self-esteem and disliked who I was. However, upon discovering makeup, I found a means to highlight my assets and perceived ways to subtly modify my nose and plump up my lips, which gave me a boost in confidence.
Princess expressed feeling more assured, not completely, only regarding some matters, since she disliked everything prior to discovering makeup,” (paraphrased sentence)
In the context of discussing cosmetic surgery, she added: “There’s no necessity for getting a nose job at the age of 18. While I fully support surgeries in general, given my mother’s extensive history with them, you should know that she proudly embraces her choices.
‘She was the one who told me not to get it because I’m beautiful the way I am.
‘There are so many things makeup has taught me and I’ve learn’t to love myself without makeup.’
Over the course of several years, Katie has gone through multiple surgical treatments. Among these are at least 16 breast augmentations, three nose reshaping surgeries, and six facial rejuvenation procedures.
