Katie Price claims ex husband Peter Andre was told to pursue her to boost his career ahead of I’m A Celeb after discovering emails from his manager

Katie Price alleges she found emails suggesting her ex-husband’s publicist advised him to try and reconnect with her on the reality show ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ in an attempt to gain more publicity.

Katie Price, 47 – formerly known as Jordan when she first became famous – claims she was told by someone that if Peter Andre remained with her, she would boost his career.

During her show, ‘An Evening with Katie Price & Kerry Katona,’ Katie Price said she discovered emails and other communication between her ex-husband, Peter Andre, and his manager, Claire.

She shared with the audience that emails existed between Claire and Pete. In those emails, Pete warned that staying with Jordan would help advance her career.

Daily Mail have contacted Peter Andre and Claire Powell for comment. 

Recently, a clip from the 2004 season of ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ has resurfaced online. In the clip, Katie alleges that Peter asked her to create a dramatic moment so they would both remain on the show for a longer period of time.

A recently shared video shows Peter inviting Katie to join him for a swim the following day.

He drew her near and whispered a suggestion in her ear – a swim together. He tried to downplay it, saying it was casual and harmless, and cameras captured the exchange.

Katie walked over to Alex Best and relayed a message: someone had said that going to the pool together tomorrow would be a good idea.

The only way to stay on the show is if we go along with it. And I’m realizing… doesn’t it seem like he’s manipulating us? I have a feeling I’m going to be eliminated now.

Alex tells her: ‘That’s terrible, that’s really bad.

Okay, so I’ve been thinking, and I totally get it now. It’s so obvious! He’s only been pretending to be our friend, just to stay on the show! I knew something was off, and now it’s crystal clear. Honestly, I feel so validated that someone else sees it too! Yes, absolutely, I completely agree!

‘I didn’t really want to b****, but I can’t believe he’s just said that.’

Later discussing the issue, Peter reassures Katie: ‘What I said to you was genuine.’

Katie replies: ‘I can’t believe that until I’m out of here. I just can’t.’

Peter stated he’s no longer interested and doesn’t want to be involved, explaining he has no room in his life for unnecessary drama or complications.

Okay, let’s talk about authenticity. Someone pointed out – and it’s a fair question – that the poolside scene felt a little… staged. Apparently, the suggestion was made to create that moment specifically to keep things going on the show. It really makes you think about what’s real and what’s for the cameras, doesn’t it? As someone who’s observed a lot of reality TV, I can tell you, it’s always good to question what you’re seeing!

‘She wants to wait until they get out and all of a sudden he’s not interested anymore?’

Katie and Pete were once the most popular couple on reality television. Their wedding and numerous lucrative endorsements made them a national sensation in Britain.

Their relationship fell apart, and they divorced in 2009 after four years of marriage. Katie stated that Peter was the one who ended things.

People across the country have followed the aftermath of Katie and Peter’s divorce, including the public arguments and criticisms exchanged between them.

Princess Andre, their daughter, revealed the conflict between her parents deeply affected her. She shared that she began seeing a counselor after recognizing her parents ‘don’t get along.’

In her reality show, The Princess Diaries, she talked about how their breakup affected her, explaining she felt unable to confide in her father after his split from Katie because he and Katie didn’t get along.

During the show, she shared that she sees a counsellor because, after her parents separated in 2009, she found it difficult to talk to her father due to their strained relationship.

‘She [Katie] is so unpredictable and she lives life and doesn’t care,’ said Princess.

I appreciate that attitude of not letting things bother you, even though it really does affect me. I end up dwelling on it privately later.

I’m currently seeing a counsellor, and I keep a journal to help process my thoughts and feelings. I often think about how much better my childhood could have been, as I was dealing with a lot of responsibility and worries at a very young age.

Princess explained that she spent Mondays and Tuesdays with Katie, and Wednesdays and Thursdays with her dad, Peter. Weekends were more flexible, with arrangements decided on a rotating basis.

She contrasted the two homes, explaining that her mother’s house was very free-spirited. There weren’t many rules—perhaps a few basic limits—but everyone could decide when to go to bed and what to eat.

Since her four-year marriage ended, Katie has repeatedly criticized Peter. In 2023, she called him ‘boring’ in a TikTok video and later revealed she left a showing of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 because it reminded her of him.

There were long-standing rumors that the model and her former partner broke up because of her close bond with dressage rider Andrew Gould. Katie Price addressed these rumors during an interview on Paul C Brunson’s podcast, We Need To Talk.

She explained that they split up because her ex-husband wrongly believed she was having an affair with her dressage instructor. She insisted nothing happened between them – she simply kept her horse at his stables and was content with the arrangement, especially since he was married.

When Pete and I broke up, he kept repeating that he’d had enough. It reached a point where I just told him to go ahead and divorce me. I remember that day clearly, because I immediately flew to the Maldives with the kids.

I was at the airport that day, and the news was all over Sky News. It became clear it wasn’t a mutual decision. I immediately put out a statement saying I didn’t want a breakup, but Pete was the one ending things. To this day, Pete and I have never actually talked about what happened.

All communication has been handled by our lawyers. I’ve never had a direct conversation with him, and I think we could have resolved things easily if we’d had the chance to talk, but we were prevented from doing so.

Peter was deeply upset after learning that Katie had taken their children to the Maldives – the same villa where they spent their honeymoon back in 2005 – following their separation.

He shared with the Daily Star that being separated from his children is incredibly painful and emotionally devastating. He described feeling completely heartbroken.

Katie admitted that co-parenting is incredibly challenging. She explained that going through the process reveals a person’s true character, and while it’s been difficult for her, she’s also found it heartbreaking.

The TV couple often openly discussed their jealous arguments, and these fights were frequently shown on their reality show, Katie & Peter.

Their fans were stunned when the group announced they were breaking up, and it appears the news was also unexpected for Katie.

As a longtime fan, it broke my heart to hear her say it wasn’t what she wanted. She explained that Pete truly is the love of her life, her everything, and they built a family together. She’s absolutely devastated and so disappointed by his decision to end their marriage, because she really thought they were together forever.

I’m upset about this situation, and it wasn’t my choice. I won’t be discussing the breakup publicly or giving any interviews, but I will always care deeply for Pete.

Following his divorce from Katie, Peter married doctor Emily MacDonagh in 2015. He shares his daughter Princess and son Junior with Katie, and he and Emily have three children together: Amelia, 11, Theo, 8, and Arabella, who is 16 months old.
