Katie Price blasted as she shares her plans to ditch her 12 pets as she ‘reevaluates her life’ after marriage to Lee Andrews following historic backlash for treatment of animals

Viewers have criticized Katie Price after she announced in a recent YouTube video that she intends to rehome her twelve pets.

Katie Price, 47, has been frequently traveling between the UK and Dubai since marrying businessman Lee Andrews in January.

I’m hearing that the star is back in the UK, and it sounds like Katie is really thinking about the future – what life together will actually look like. She’s even re-evaluating things like how many pets she has, especially after getting some criticism in the past for how she cared for her animals. It’s good to see her taking a thoughtful approach to everything!

In her video, she explained that she needs to figure out arrangements for the animals since Lee is currently in Dubai and she plans to continue traveling between Dubai and home.

I have a lot of animals – twelve, to be exact – and I generally enjoy having plenty of everything. I like large cars and appreciate a fuller figure, and I clearly have a fondness for animals, including horses.

I’m starting to wonder if I need to rethink things and consider if I have too many animals. I just need some time to think it all through.

She realized having a pet might not work with her current life, and explained, ‘They really need constant attention. I’m not sure I can provide that… honestly, I tend to overdo everything anyway, as we all know.’

‘So I am going to have to reevaluate things in my life. And I want to do my house up.’

People were shocked and upset by Katie’s treatment of her animals, and they shared their disapproval in the comments section.

They wrote messages expressing concern for animals, stating that individuals with a history of neglect or cruelty shouldn’t be permitted to own pets.

Okay, let’s talk honestly. I’m seeing a lot of requests for help with someone’s animals, and it’s breaking my heart. Honestly, before bringing any pet into your life – seventeen is a lot! – you really need to consider if you can provide for their long-term care. It’s not just about the initial excitement; it’s a huge responsibility. A little foresight goes a long way, and it’s kinder to the animals in the long run.

It’s shocking how easily you dismiss the needs of these animals – it’s incredibly selfish.

Animal charities have repeatedly criticized Katie due to pet deaths that occurred while she owned them.

The celebrity adopted a Cocker Spaniel named Rookie in February 2025, sparking concerns from some that she was adding another animal to her already growing family.

In 2024, Katie took in Doris and two more hairless cats, even though animal welfare groups had asked authorities to prevent her from owning any animals.

She responded to criticism about her pet ownership, which arose after animal rights group PETA offered her £5,000 to give up her animals.

Katie recently introduced her family to her new pet, Rookie, and has always loved animals – she’s had several pets throughout her life.

People are questioning her animal care after several animals – including five dogs, a horse, and a chameleon – died while she was looking after them. Many of these deaths happened in traffic accidents close to her previous home in Sussex.

Katie believes a series of unfortunate events happened due to chance, and most of them occurred while she wasn’t home. To protect her pets, she’s now made her new garden secure.

Katie previously explained to The Sun that when people question her ability to care for animals, it’s due to situations beyond her control.

It’s not that I didn’t care for them – I truly love animals and enjoy taking care of them.

In February 2024, PETA sent an open letter to Katie after news surfaced that she had rehomed her puppy, Tank, because she was no longer interested in caring for him.

They offered her £5,000 if she signs a contract to not acquire another animal.
