Katie Price, 47, admits her relationship with JJ Slater, 31, was ‘over ages ago’ and she didn’t want to ‘waste her time’ anymore

Katie Price has confirmed her romance with JJ Slater ended quite a while ago, explaining she didn’t see a point in continuing if things weren’t working out.

Katie Price, 47, and JJ Slater, 31, have ended their nearly two-year relationship. According to the Daily Mail, Katie decided JJ wasn’t the right long-term partner for her, leading to their split earlier this month.

I was really surprised to hear on Katie’s podcast, The Katie Price Show, that she and JJ split up a while ago now. It wasn’t recent at all, apparently!

Honestly, I totally get what she means. She’s just saying she doesn’t want to invest her energy into something that isn’t fulfilling. She’s been through this before – putting time into relationships where the feeling wasn’t mutual, and it left her feeling drained. She’s learned that she needs to be genuinely happy and loved in a relationship, and she’s not going to settle for less anymore.

If you just tolerate something and let it continue, it eventually becomes unpleasant. I want to avoid that, so it’s better to deal with problems early on, before they escalate.

I did spend Christmas with my family, it was already planned, but honestly, it feels like a distant memory now. It’s all a bit of a blur looking back.

On Wednesday, Katie posted a series of poems and quotes about soulmates and relationships. 

Mike Poetry shared a lovely thought: people often say it takes time to fall in love, but he believes it actually just takes the right person – someone who understands you completely, even without you saying a word.

Someone else shared a post about identifying your soulmate and the supposed signs you’ll see when you meet them.

Katie ended by sharing a quote: ‘My mom always says you’ll find your soulmate when you meet a man who’s just like you.’

JJ recently shared on Instagram that he’s been working out at the gym after his breakup with the model, and has lost weight as a result.

After his breakup with Katie, JJ shared with his fans that he’d lost six pounds by working with an online coach.

He shared a video on his Stories explaining that about ten days ago, he started working with Kieran from Konditioning Coaching.

‘He’s an online coach. I’ve never had one before but I thought that I’d give it a go.

It’s been ten days, and I’ve already lost 2.8 kilograms, which is fantastic! He keeps me on track by managing my diet, planning my workouts, and ensuring I get enough exercise, like walking and cardio.

‘And if I’m not doing it he’ll call me up and be like ”J what are you doing.”’

JJ ended his post by saying he wants to share his weight loss progress with his followers and have them join him.

He suggested that if you’re considering working with an online coach, following his progress might help you make up your mind. He also gave a shout-out to Kieran and hinted at future updates on the topic.

Katie and JJ started dating in February 2024, shortly after JJ became well-known from appearing on the E4 show, Married At First Sight UK.

Katie even spoke of having a child together, her sixth, but in the end, it wasn’t meant to be.

Someone close to Katie had previously shared with Daily Mail that she’d been questioning whether JJ was the right person to marry for a while, but she’d been hoping those feelings would pass.

Instead, her worries have increased, and she now realizes she won’t be getting married for a fourth time in this relationship.

‘JJ was left disappointed and has already packed his bags and moved back to his home in Essex. 

‘He genuinely saw a future with Katie, but it seems she ultimately had a very different outlook.’

The Daily Mail contacted Katie and JJ’s representatives for comment at the time. 

JJ, a fashion entrepreneur, gained attention on the UK version of Married At First Sight in 2023. He became known for developing a relationship with transgender contestant Ella Morgan, even though he was initially married to someone else as part of the show.

Katie has been married three times. Her ex-husbands include singer Peter Andre, with whom she has two children, Junior and Princess, former cage fighter Alex Reid, and personal trainer Kieran Hayler, who is the father of her two youngest children, Jett and Bunny.

She is also mother to son Harvey, whom she shares with footballer Dwight Yorke, 54.
