Katie Johnston’s Bali Self-Love Journey After Heartbreaking Split from Tim Gromie

Katie Johnston, who appeared on “Married At First Sight,” is spending some time on a personal journey of self-care and appreciation in Bali, after her difficult separation from her television spouse Tim Gromie.

I, with a heart full of passion and admiration, found myself heartbroken at the tender age of 37. This time, not from a run-of-the-mill heartbreak, but from a serial dating app user who callously dismissed me. You see, I was the bride he had his eyes on, yet he relentlessly rejected me, favoring instead a ‘petite blonde.’ It’s a tough pill to swallow, being a fan of his for so long and seeing this rejection play out on the show.

On a playful note, I jested on my Instagram post yesterday that the essential components for self-love, as per me, are plump bananas, crisp cucumbers, and carrots of generous size.

During a 11-week stay in Bali, where she’s been on a personal healing journey, Katie recorded herself shopping at the grocery store. As she selected different types of vegetables resembling certain body parts, she couldn’t hide her enthusiasm and occasionally flirted with the camera.

She also bought one pineapple to include in her zesty lunch plate.

Katie wrote that she has stopped putting harmful substances into her body and is dedicated to living a healthier lifestyle, both physically and mentally.

Maintaining proper nutrition, making wise decisions, and consistently practicing self-care for emotional wellness! #SelfLove #NotThatKind #MAFS (Married at First Sight)

Straight away, Katie captured hearts as a woman who’d faced romantic rejections throughout her life, yet remained optimistic about breaking free from her ten-year-long singleness.

She married PE teacher Tim in one of the first episodes of the season.

Tim portrayed himself as being overly kind and not particular about appearance, but swiftly turned her down shortly after.

At their wedding reception, Tim took a break from the festivities to privately discuss his grievances with one of the producers offstage.

‘Totally not what I wanted. Not good,’ he said.

Typically, I prefer women who are short, petite, with either blonde or brown hair. However, Katie doesn’t fit my usual type. From the get-go, I haven’t felt any attraction towards her. It’s clear to me right away.

Regardless of a rocky start, the couple persisted and journeyed to Tasmania’s Cradle Mountain for their honeymoon. At one point, Tim joked that he would close the curtains if he ever saw Katie without clothes.

Approximately eight months after her Married at First Sight segment was filmed, Katie appears noticeably changed compared to the distressed bride viewers witnessed during the initial week of the popular Nine show’s run.

For the last two months, she’s been taking care of herself in Canggu, Bali, and exploring with a compact local tour group named “Bali With Locals.

Katie has been sharing her lone journey adventures on social media platforms. Among these experiences are seeking spiritual advice from a revered figure, offering service at the Tat Twam Asi girls’ orphanage named Panti Asuhan, enjoying swimming, visiting saunas, and exploring various scenic spots.

She’s also writing a book.

The EATS founder took to Instagram this week to share how she feels about her time on MAFS now.

She stated that she departed Married At First Sight during the initial commitment ceremony, and since then, she’s never felt more confident about her identity.

Caring for oneself is not only about relaxing with a bubble bath or applying a face mask; it’s also about making tough decisions that prioritize you. It involves stepping back from situations that don’t benefit you, safeguarding your tranquility, and nurturing your self-love before anything else.

By filling yourself with strength and resilience, you emerge in the world as the strongest, most unwavering version of yourself.

Abandoning that experiment wasn’t a loss – it was a victory for my self-worth, my personal limits, and my joy. And this is the path I will consistently select.

When life repeatedly knocks you off balance, consider it as something that strengthens your resilience rather than causing remorse. Keep on getting back up, and keep prioritizing yourself.

Additionally, Katie shares videos of her enjoying sauna time, swimming, and unwinding at an upscale wellness center with her audience. In these moments, she also expresses her feelings deeply to them.

Following my departure from ‘Married at First Sight’, I understood the necessity of taking good care of myself, not just mentally but also physically,” she expressed on Monday.

In response to the challenging experience of her short-lived marriage on Married at First Sight, the individual from Queensland seems to be undergoing a significant transformation in both lifestyle and health and wellness habits.

‘Walking away doesn’t automatically erase the weight of stress, heartache, or unhealthy circumstances. Instead, these burdens linger in your body, manifesting as tension in your shoulders, unease in your stomach, and disruptions in your sleep patterns,’ she explained further.

Let’s treat our bodies with care and compassion as they support us through all we do. Avoid stressing or burdening yourself, instead, fill your heart with love for the body that serves you tirelessly.

If you’re going through a time for healing, remember that each little step forward is significant, the reality TV personality emphasized, encouraging her 47,000 fans to adopt the mindset of “Eat, Reflect, and MAFS” (Married at First Sight).
