Katie Holmes pays tribute to late Dawson’s Creek co-star

As a devoted fan who grew up with Dawson’s Creek, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia and sorrow upon hearing about the passing of Obi Ndefo. His portrayal of Bodie Wells brought warmth and camaraderie to the screen, making him an integral part of our beloved TV family. The news is particularly poignant considering his resilience in the face of adversity, having lost both legs in a car accident and continuing to inspire us with his unwavering spirit through fitness endeavors and Yoga Warrior competitions.

Katie Holmes recently honored her deceased “Dawson’s Creek” fellow actor, Obi Ndefo, after his passing on the weekend.

In the early 2000s, I starred as Bodie Wells in a teen drama series, sharing the screen with Joey Potter, portrayed by none other than the talented Holmes. Sadly, at the time I’m penning this, the details surrounding my demise remain a mystery.

On an Instagram post, Holmes shared: “It was delightful collaborating with him and he had the most compassionate heart. I extend my well-wishes and blessings to his loved ones. May he find eternal peace.”

Actress Mary-Margaret Humes, known for portraying Dawson’s mother Gail in the series, also paid tribute to her character via her Instagram account.

Accompanying a collection of old photos and videos featuring Ndefo and his co-stars, Humes penned: “Expressing these thoughts isn’t simple. It’s challenging for me to accept that you’re gone, my valued friend.”

As a devoted admirer, I’ve always recognized and will continue to acknowledge your radiant brilliance. You’ve truly served as an inspiring beacon, demonstrating the power of unwavering love and indomitable spirit while navigating life’s hardships, particularly those you’ve encountered recently.

“Over the past few years, I’ve treasured every message of love and camaraderie we exchanged. You will forever remain a cherished sweet warrior. Rest in peace, dear friend. #DawsonsCreek #TVFamily #EternalFriendships”

In the year 2019, Ndefo suffered a car accident that left him without his legs. Despite this setback, he showcased his determination on social media by continuing his fitness journey and participating in Yoga Warrior contests. Additionally, he initiated a fundraising campaign to acquire advanced prosthetic limbs.

Apart from “Dawson’s Creek,” Ndefo has also starred in “Stargate SG-1,” “The Jamie Foxx Show,” and two separate “Star Trek” series. In 2021, he concluded his TV acting career with an appearance on “NCIS: Los Angeles.”

All six seasons of Dawson’s Creek can be streamed now on ITVX.
