Cruise is forking over the money to put her through college. 

It was determined back in 2012, following their divorce after six years of marriage, that he would be responsible for paying for her educational expenses.

According to the divorce papers, it was disclosed that Tom is responsible for covering Suri’s various expenses such as medical care, dental appointments, insurance premiums, educational fees, college tuition, and additional costs associated with extracurricular activities.

A friend of Tom’s shared with DailyMail.com that Tom has consistently covered Suri’s educational expenses, and he intends to continue doing so because he’s a responsible individual. It’s known that the annual tuition at CMU is $65,000.

However, since Suri has turned 18, it’s probable that he isn’t providing Katie with the annual child support amount of $38,000 anymore, as she is no longer considered a minor.

It is odd to think that Tom is paying Suri’s way considering they have not been photographed together in over a decade.

Their last snapshot together in public was in April 2013.

Instead of staying in Mom Homes’ spacious, upscale three-bedroom apartment in New York City, the teenager will now reside in a minimalist dormitory room instead.

She is believed to be house in Scobell House which has a maximum of 88 students and is all female. 

One of the highlights of Carnegie Mellon? The campus houses several restaurants that offer cappuccinos, croissants, pasta and smoothies. And there is a state-of-the-art wellness center.

The rooms can be for one person, two or three, depending on need and price. 

One of the rooms has two bunk beds which means as many as four students can be crammed in the space. 

The majority of dorm rooms come equipped with furnishings: typically, you’ll find a single bed accompanied by storage space below, a five-tiered chest of drawers, a desk featuring three drawers, as well as a chair.

The complex offers various facilities including a TV room, a study room, an area for recreation, laundry services, and a fully equipped kitchen.

Scobell belongs to the WHeSco community, made up of houses Henderson and Welch. The WHeSco community is conveniently located near numerous academic buildings and dining establishments in Resnik. Lastly, The Edge Cafe and Market situated within Resnik House is an ideal spot for Suri to find bagels, cream cheese, and pizza.

It seems that Katie suggests Suri could be pursuing acting and dancing studies at Carnegie Mellon, while Holmes mentioned to Town & Country magazine that after completing her education, Suri plans to venture into the entertainment industry.

Both Katie and Suri’s father Tom have been in the industry since their early 20s.

It’s not surprising that Suri has shown an interest in fashion or acting, given her theatrical background – she previously starred in a high school production of The Addams Family.

And Katie has already put Suri to work on two of her films.

In the movies “Rare Objects” (2023) and “Alone Together” (2022), both dramas, Suri lent her voice to the songs.

‘I’m proud of my daughter,’ Holmes told Town & Country of her daughter.

‘Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy.’

In an interview with Glamour magazine in April 2023, Holmes expressed her efforts to motivate Suri to participate in her creative endeavors.

‘I hope she always does something on my films,’ Holmes said. ‘I always ask her.’

Holmes expressed that both instances stemmed from the shared passion for our field that he cherishes, as it offers opportunities to collaborate on projects and form close-knit teams, or families.
