Katie Holmes goes braless in sexy dress at CFDA Fashion Awards after sending Suri Cruise back off to college

As a seasoned observer of Hollywood and its glittering denizens, I find myself captivated by the latest updates on Katie Holmes. Her recent attendance at the Carolina Herrera event, where she celebrated creativity and art, is yet another testament to her versatile journey post-Tinseltown.

At the glamorous 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards held in New York City on Monday, Katie Holmes chose to forgo a bra while wearing an attention-grabbing outfit.

45-year-old actress from Dawson’s Creek, who not long ago posted an uncommon picture with her three siblings, attended the gathering alongside stars like Blake Lively and Kylie Jenner.

Holmes glowed in a vibrant, springtime dress designed by Carolina Herrera for their 2025 collection – it featured long sleeves, a combination of soft pink and fiery coral hues.

The attire had tiny openings along its sides and extended below her ankles. There was also a narrow split visible at the back, as well as a lengthy, black ribbon.

Katie also donned a pair of closed-toed, red pumps to coincide with the color scheme of her gown.

Holmes effortlessly carried a compact, slim black bag in her hand, containing a few essentials for the event.

The actress had dark brown hair divided down the middle, neatly arranged into a fashionable, low bun situated at the back of her head.

Katie adorned the dress with a pair of sparkling, drooping earrings in pink and added several large rings on her left hand too.

She held a small smile on her face while flaunting the colorful dress at the awards event in NYC.

Additionally, during her appearance on the red carpet, the mother-of-one was accompanied by the present creative director of Carolina Herrera, Wes Gordon.

As a devoted follower of style, I chose an elegant ensemble for the event. I donned a timeless, black suit, paired with a partially unfastened, crisp white shirt, and polished off the look with sleek, black dress shoes.

During an interview last year with Glamour, Katie opened up about her sense of fashion – whether it be her street style or glamming up for an event. 

She shared with the media that she appreciates fashion, specifically the skill and artistry involved in its creation. Additionally, she enjoys the process of selecting and coordinating different pieces.

Additionally, I collaborate with stylist Brie Welch, who has a keen eye for details, which greatly influences my work. I find her approach to be highly creative. My passion lies in thrift store browsing, and I’m captivated by the essence of design.

On Monday as well, Katie posted more photos from the grand event to her primary Instagram account.

In her post’s title, she expressed thanks to Wes Gordon and the fashion house, Carolina Herrera, for an enchanting evening.

After dropping her 18-year-old daughter Suri at college, the star made a public appearance, having recently spent some quality time together in New York City during her fall break.

This month, Holmes and Suri have been seen together on several occasions, including taking leisurely walks in New York City, affectionately known as “The Big Apple.

This year, Suri decided to remove “Cruise” from her surname and adopt “Noelle,” a move that coincided with her strained relationship with Tom.

In an interview with Town & Country last August, Katie shared that her daughter was relocating for higher education.

The actress gleefully shared, “I’m so proud of my daughter! Although I’ll definitely feel her absence, I’m incredibly proud of her and I can’t help but be happy.

Reflecting on my past self at your current age, it feels as though I’m reminiscing about the dawn of a journey. The thrill of discovering myself was an exhilarating experience, one I cherished deeply, and merely contemplating those days fills me with joy.

Apart from that, Katie’s schedule is packed with her involvement in the ongoing Broadway play, “Our Town,” which premiered on October 10.

Thornton Wilder’s play is back on Broadway after a gap of more than two decades since its last performance.

The event boasts a grand lineup of 28 talented performers, among them are Holmes, Jim Parsons, Zoey Deutch, Ephraim Sykes, Julie Halston, and Michelle Wilson.

The story unfolds in the familiar setting of a quaint town, with a stage manager guiding us through the residents’ everyday lives, showcasing how a childhood bond evolves into matrimony, and revealing profound insights into the essence of existence, as described on the official Broadway site.

The previews for the show commenced on Tuesday, September 17, specifically at the Barrymore Theatre. The performances are scheduled to continue until January 19, 2025.
