Katie Holmes ends speculation she feuds with Michelle Williams as they hug it out at Dawson’s Creek reunion

On Monday night at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City, Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams shared a hug during a reunion event for the TV show *Dawson’s Creek*.

The ladies looked like best pals as they smiled while arm in arm during the curtain call.

Several times throughout the reading, Holmes grabbed Williams’ hand. 

This marks the official end of the long-rumored rivalry between the two actresses, which fans have followed for over twenty-five years.

Despite rumors, neither woman has ever publicly admitted to a disagreement, and Holmes specifically stated last year that she and Williams are friends.

Katie Holmes, best known for her role as Joey Potter on the 1990s TV show, says she still occasionally connects with her former costars Joshua Jackson, James Van Der Beek, and Brittany Williams.

Despite everyone getting older and having busy lives, the connection between them will always remain, said Holmes, Tom Cruise’s ex-wife.

Holmes and Williams have been seen together before. They were photographed together back in February 2024.

Dawson’s Creek aired on the WB – now the CW – from 1998 to 2003. 

Holmes talked to Glamour last year about what it was like on the Dawson’s Creek set.

Holmes described her teenage years as a time of intense emotions and figuring out how to grow up, transitioning from girlhood to womanhood.

‘And I felt like [showrunner Kevin Williamson] had this way of putting words to those feelings.’

The actress also shared that playing Joey on the show was a way for her to deal with her own drama. 

She told Glamour that playing the role was a turning point for her. It helped her understand something new, and she described the experience as both enjoyable and deeply meaningful.

Holmes also loved how people still adore the series.

‘It’s pretty wild,’ she said during an April 2023 appearance on Sirius XM’s The Jess Cagle Show.

It’s surprising to me that this story still resonates with people. It feels like a different world from when it originally came out – things were much simpler back then, before smartphones and social media became so central to our lives, and that simplicity is what this group of friends represented.

Holmes recently filmed a new movie with Jackson, proving they have remained good pals. 

Before Williams, Holmes, and Jackson appeared on stage, the event began with a montage of photos and videos showing the cast having fun. Busy Philipps was also present.

Van Der Beek then shared a video message explaining he was disappointed to miss the event. Lin-Manuel Miranda filled in for him.
