Katie Holmes, 45, embraces her gray roots in NYC after earning raves for her Broadway performance
As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for celebrity trends and a deep appreciation for the arts, I must say that Katie Holmes‘ recent decision to embrace her natural gray roots is not only refreshing but also commendable. This actress, who has graced both the big and small screens as well as the Broadway stage, continues to push boundaries and challenge societal norms.
Katie Holmes appears to be taking a break from going to the hair dresser.
45-year-old actress, often seen with her daughter Suri Cruise (aged 18), who took a break from college, was noticeably showing signs of her natural gray hair as she commuted to work on a Friday in New York City.
With a radiant grin, the actress talking on the phone was heading towards the Barrymore Theater, where she currently stars in the revival of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town play. Critics have lauded her performance as ‘extraordinary.’
In the effort to express her character, Mrs. Webb, a woman from pre-WWI America of middle age, might choose to wear her hair in a more natural style.
Behind her large sunglasses, Holmes was seen without makeup, sporting a vibrant outfit as she ambled around New York City.
The Rare Objects director and star stepped out in bright red wide leg pants with a pink sweater beneath an oversized vintage looking denim blazer.
She wore black patent leather flats and carried a white shoulder bag.
Our Town officially opened on October 10 after weeks of previews.
Present among those cheering for Holmes were her loving parents, Martin and Kathleen, as well as her siblings Nancy Kay, Tamera, and Holly Ann.
She expressed gratitude towards her family for attending our town’s Broadway shows twice in a row, as shown in a backstage photograph. She conveyed her love for them and felt truly grateful. ❤️
In the year 2008, Holmes took to the stage on Broadway for the first time, starring alongside John Lithgow, Patrick Wilson, and Diane Wiest in Arthur Miller’s play “All My Sons”.
In 2012 she starred in Dead Accounts with Tony winner Nobert Leo Butz.
She starred in The Wanderers off-Broadway from February until April 2023.
The empty nester has plenty on her plate. When she finishes her current Broadway run, she will begin prep on her next project, Captivated.
In the upcoming movie depicting the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III during the 1970s, she will be working alongside Academy Award winner Al Pacino and Toby Kebbell. Notably, John Paul Getty III was the grandson of J. Paul Getty, who held the title of the world’s wealthiest man at that time.
Holmes is set to play the role of Gail, the victim’s mother. Pacino and Kebbell will portray two different phases of a Calabrian mafia leader named Saro Mammoliti. This character puts his organization at risk as he develops feelings for Gail during ransom discussions.
Production is set to begin in winter 2025 in Italy.
