Katherine Kelly’s new British thriller confirms release date with first-look trailer

Actress Katherine Kelly, known for her roles in “Happy Valley” and “The Long Shadow,” has announced the release date of her upcoming British thriller titled “The Crow Girl” along with a trailer.

In this Paramount+ series, the story revolves around the pursuit of a notorious serial killer. The characters, therapist Sophia Craven, played by Kelly, and DCI Jeanette Kilburn, portrayed by Eve Myles from “Torchwood,” join forces to bring the murderer to justice.

The confirmation is out: The entire six-part series will be aired next Thursday, which falls on January 16.

An exciting first sneak peek has been released too, featuring Kilburn along with his on-screen partner DI Lou Stanley (Dougray Scott from “Vigil”) as they endeavor to solve a baffling enigma.

The television series is derived from a novel penned by Erik Axl Sund, and primarily revolves around a detective duo who are on the chase for a murderer, having discovered deceased young men whose bodies show signs of bludgeoning and additionally contain the anesthetic drug lidocaine.

Under increasing scrutiny to resolve the case with insufficient proof, detective Jeanette seeks assistance from Dr. Sophia Craven, Carl Lowry – the prime suspect’s psychotherapist. Dr. Craven provides a new yet concerning viewpoint regarding the investigation.

However, as the dangerous individual continues to move nearer to their home base, Jeanette and her group find themselves in a desperate struggle to unravel the intricate network of hidden truths before time runs out and the mystery remains unsolved.

In addition to the lead character, “The Crow Girl” features Elliot Edusah from “Hard Truths” portraying DC Mike Dilliston, Clara Rugaard from “Black Mirror” as Victoria Burkeman, Victoria Hamilton from “The Crown” playing Superintendent Verity Pound, and Chloé Sweetlove from “Tutankhamun” in the role of Madeleine.

The TV series is penned by author Milly Thomas, who has written four out of six episodes and serves as an executive producer. Directing duties for the series are handled by Charles Martin and Rebecca Rycroft.

The Crow Girl is set to premiere all six episodes on Thursday, January 16 on Paramount+.
