Kate Winslet’s new movie Lee confirms Sky Cinema release date
As a long-time admirer of Kate Winslet’s captivating performances and unwavering dedication to her craft, I am absolutely thrilled about her latest masterpiece, “Lee”, premiering on Sky Cinema this November 1st. This World War II drama, based on the real-life photographer Lee Miller, is not just a testament to Winslet’s acting prowess but also her production skills, as she took on the role of producer for the first time in her career.
Kate Winslet’s new movie Lee is coming to Sky Cinema.
On Friday, November 1st, the drama based on the true-life photographer Lee Miller during World War II by the Academy Award winner will make its television premiere on the channel, after having a theatrical release earlier in the year.
If you haven’t subscribed to Sky Cinema as part of your television and streaming bundle, you have the opportunity to start today for just £10 a month. The cost may differ based on the specific Sky package you choose.
In her most recent movie, Winslet portrays the thrilling odyssey of Lee Miller, a renowned fashion photographer who abandoned her glitzy lifestyle to chronicle the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime for Vogue magazine.
Miller’s resolve to reveal the horrors of Nazism to the world took a heavy toll on her personally, as she braved the confines of concentration camps and witnessed the liberation of Paris firsthand.
The film based on “The Umbrella Academy” and “Ozark” director Ellen Kuras’ work has been developed from Antony Penrose’s biography of his mother, titled “The Lives of Lee Miller“. This screenplay was penned by Liz Hannah (known for “The Post“), John Collee (famous for “Happy Feet“) and Marion Hume (associated with “Vogue Australia“).
The incredible supporting cast includes Oscar winner Marion Cotillard as French Vogue fashion editor Solange d’Ayen, Andy Samberg as Life magazine photographer David Scherman and Josh O’Connor as Miller’s son Antony Penrose.
Apart from playing a role in it, Kate Winslet also directed the film titled “Lee“, an experience she deemed extraordinary.
She explained to Digital Spy that being a film producer involves overseeing everything from the initial stages, including the technical aspects, details, finances, team, and locations, all the way through to the final delivery of the movie.
In a nutshell, that job was something entirely new for me, and it was during my tenure at Lee where I experienced this novelty for the very first time.
Lee will be steaming on Sky Cinema from Friday, November 1.
